With the new addition of loading screens on every area transition. I would strongly suggest to implement a grace period so you do not just die while in a loading screen. So if you cannot remove the loading screens, which are not D2 Canon, at least make it so people don’t lose their HC chars because of this new “feature”.
Also consider adding a refresh button to the normal trade as well, like you did in gambling. Same reason, in D2 anya refreshing took ~1-2 seconds into pindle portal and back. Now it is ~14 seconds featured by 2 loading screens.
If you remaster a title at least keep the QoL the same or improve it.
ps. Where is the suggestion/feedback section for d2r, that title needs 100x more work than a forum, which does have a feedback section.

I brought this up as a friend ripped his 92 zon today in hell cows, portal spawning in the cowking pack, I doubt any char would survive that by doing nothing for like 7seconds

Lost a bunch of xp at wp1 in A5 today because some fana archers mow you down while you are looking at a load screen.
Either fix the loading screens or allow for a grace period whenever taking a portal or wp that is removed once you act or move. Alternatively if grace period is undesirable add a min safe distance around wp’s and red portals in which monsters cannot spawn.
great idea. especially because your merc/minions can aggro gloams on WSK2 or archers on frigid and you die without a hope
Grace period is a half-measure. They just need to fix the loading times.

I think that when you teleport to an area, your character is live, the game is just trying to catch up by loading all the graphics. I think this requires code optimization.
It’s 2000 nostalgia guys, blizzard just do not realize that we got new computer now …
On a more serious part, the code of the game is the old from D2, they do not work on it when vicarious was making the graphic update, so, well you guess that all this memory needed to load heavier setting on a freaking 20yo code tend to make every single shit to take longer loads
