Explain how it would work?
There’s alot to change in the background for this not to be bugged as hell.
You can just join games with more people in. It is a multiplayer game. Or play single player then use the command.
In the “Create Game” window, you could provide another rake.
As soon as the check mark is set, the game sets the drop rates, experience, monster difficulty to the “max player count”, no matter how many players are in the game.

But why should they introduce this option, as long as you can join a game with other 7 players and get the same results. Please elaborate.
I agree with this option for online.
Let’s say you want to play with a friend, in family, or with a group smaller than 8 with friends : you can’t do it now in /players8 difficulty.
each time someone ask for this feature, i read the same answer : “play offline if you don’t want to play with others”… but many people actually want to play with other… friends ! I mean… IRL friends ! And we don’t all have 7 friends connected at the same time…
We had the option in original D2. Why would it be a problem to have it now ?

At certain point of your char and gear level you are just making more games cause hell monsters are too week for you.
Joining games with more players is not solution. Same problem persist, cause monsters and areas are divided by 8 players.
You want play online, for trade and for playing with old or new friends sometimes… but it doesn’t mean always.
It is perfectly reasonable request.

don’t see any issue with that. most people can’t handle 8x without 7 players. Hell I don’t know anyone who can solo clear the full content on 8x alone (not only bosses but other mobs too). So why not. One more option for whoever wants it. I bet after a while they would be back on regular games with other people… otherwise they would just play single player.

this word has always made me wonder… because… Diablo is a game, isn’t it ? Or is it something more than a leisure ? Is it really possible to insult someone who’s just playing for leisure ?
Anyway, when people disagree, there’s no dumb OR clever people.

Amazing arguments… i played Diablo 2 since it released… stood in queue to buy it on release day… And i think /players x command would be amazing in multiplayer… It will make absolutely no difference only difference is that it will even out the playing field a bit and it will make a lot of people happy because their games wont be ruined by idiots that join their games to kill the bosses before they can get to them.

Well, after leveling some low chars without rushing, at least thats what i planned to do, I think you got a point here.
After thinking about it, the people who really dont want any social interaction, well you cant force em. They will definitely enter games like “a1 no rush”, because they see like 6 players at a certain level, and they know thats where they need to go mf.
Because they are too slow to do it on a baalrun;-)
So yes, I will not use it, simply because I prefer playing with other people, but I think it will better the game as I described above.
Still its fun to switch chars and hunt these idiots ingame when they enter 
But then the other players say “oh nice, 94 sorc, can you rush us and give wps !!” etc, and the game is ruined as well.
So yes, sad to say, but let them have their solo games with no other players but big loot.

Imo players 8 command should be posible in online. The lack of it cause only problems and patology.

Agreed many want it some ppl fear it, also it wont work on lobby games just online games that ppl cant join either way
This would literally buff all botters esp. the d2scumjsp section would be even harder to detect their botting, instead of reporting people joining baalruns farming other bosses (legit 9/10 it’s a bot). With /players x you would enable the servers to explode and price fixing reaching a critical mass, where a (not perfect) shako is worth a Sol rune. I am generally for /players 8 on ladders, but I am just saying you think servers were bad wait till the bots quatrillionate.
So why are you here complaining if you are for cheap items and runes? your post makes no sense… It does not matter for your game play what other people have or do… Get over it dude.

I want to play alone in multiplayer mode. So stupid just play single player.
I agree, online is dead atm and nobody wanna restart in singleplayer.
