My friend is starting a new sorc with meteorb build. We were discussing if hydra would be better than meteor with patch 2.4. What do you think? Did anyone test and compare classic meteorb build with orb + hydra in ptr 2.4?
So far his plans for skills is as following:
20 ice bolt
20 frozen orb
1 cold mastery
20 fireball
20 fire mastery
20 meteor / 20 hydra

Do you think it does still rock like shown in the videos even after hydra nerf on ptr?
I tested it on a hell normal game non ladder, but had really good items on, and the hydras did do alot of damage, when 2.4 is out the cooldown will be removed the htdra sorc will be a fun build to run icy places
My friend has full tal rasha set and spirit monarch ready, but infinity is far out of reach. Did you test it with infinity on your merc?
nope, didn’t need too, was a fun build and melted everything apart from the immunes which emilio took out, getting infinity isn’t there for me yet as its OTT for what I need
Just go full Blizzard and make a separate full fire Sorc… You will have a lot more fun and success with that… Frozen orb is in a bad spot and you need some special items for it to really shine and that will almost be impossible in a hybrid build… Blizzard is easy to get going even on low end gear. Same can be said about Fireball or Meteor. And yeah Hydra will probably be better or at least more interesting than Meteor in 2.4.
