Hey,
Lovely game still going strong after 20+ years. D2R brought awesome new graphics and nice looking armors for all of the characters. However, due to the unnecessary faster run walk penalty for medium/heavy armors only 15/45 armors are used at all, or 5/15 from Elite versions. The game would benefit by just removing the FRW penalty to medium and heavy armors, bring more cool looking options and combinations.
The armor type itself doesn’t add anything to the game or break/create any new builds. It only limits most of the armors unusable especially on Bnet.
Please remove FRW penalty from medium/heavy armors in a future patch
Haven’t they removed it ? or was it in d2 lod mods ?
I bump this thread in hope blizzard will remove FRW penalties on Medium/heavy armor.
everyone is running mageplate/Archonplate, it would be great to see different skins.
i hope the last dev who fixed the WASD can take a look of this. don’t think blizzard will lose a lot of money doing this change.
Well… they use mage/archon because of the lower str reqs from it, specially for Enigma. Nothing related to FRW. Make more sense asks for more def on high req str bases. The gap between an Archon and Sacred armor should be higher to compensate, then the slow effect on FRW can be justified accordingly.
aRPG. It just makes sense. And it is max. only -20 %. It is a good game mechanic because you have to make a choice and decision.
I like this.

Yeah I agree. Def penalty when run is insane punish almost all players. Who walking like in Diablo 1 ? Nobody. Everyone use button always run or tele with enigma. And we often dead by weak mobs because 0 def.
I disagree, Faster Run/Walk penalty on armor types I do actually like
Imo armor type 100% should effect the run speed and perhaps even attack speed. If you wear something like a 80-120kg armor on you, you most likely wont be running around as easily.
But then again we are playing special characters, not exactly normal human beings. They are stronger than the regular human.
D2r has much more issues than these. They should look into the memory leak issue which has been in the game since the beginning and still not fixed. At first thought it was, but it isnt…
