Socket recipe not working

Hi

Yesterday I was trying to use the socket recipe for weapons. Ral + amn + perfect amethyst + white weapon.
But it don’t work I tried on a white bow and a white crystal sword nothing happend.
The socket recipe for armor is working.
Anybody can help?

No “low quality” white noor “good quality” only plain white

So I can’t use it when for example the bow has +3skills for Amazon?

You can… The items must be a regular white item. For example say you’re trying to socket a hydra bow, the cube recipe only works on “hydra bow” not “cracked hydra bow” or “superior hydra bow”.

Hmm, never seen “white weapon” with + skill or anything…Only blue and up i found that had skills/stats.

Maybe i should start picking up everything! :joy:

goto normal act 2 shop and look

class specific items has that. Paladin shields, barbarian/druid helms, necro wands… They are usualy worth picking as even white rarity could be sold for max gold.

My god! Thanks dudes! :+1:

i dunno, is it a ladder only recipe then it wont work.

Not true. All “Ladder Only” recipes/runewords are functional in D2R.

Its simply what was mentioned before: you need a plain white item. No superior or cracked.

For example… allmost every wand, shortstaff, scepter, necro-head, everything you imagine as a magic class item have + to skills, as well as the class specific ones even in their white/plane variation.

Good way to farm a lot of gold btw.

You can’t socket items of low quality (cracked or crude items) or superior items using the cube recipe, only Larzuk can socket superior items. If you have a white item of low quality you can repair it with using El for armor or Eld for weapon + chipped gem (any color), then you can socket the item with the normal cube recipe BUT repairing screws up the ilvl (resets it to 1 I believe) and will prevent you from getting the usual max open sockets on whatever item you’ve repaired.

If you for example find a Cracked Archon Plate and repair it, you can then give it to Larzuk who will max socket it with only 3 instead of 4  This can be very helpful and not many people know of this and just tosses away cracked armors like they’re useless.

I hope I made some sense, I just woke up and my coffee is still in the making
