I have 21 unique helmets, 25 chests, and a hell lot of weapons. How rare is it to just get at least 1 socket. Not 1 single of the number i mentioned have sockets. I have 20 mules filled up with items and maybe around 10 items in total have sockets.
Is there a way to make sockets in them?
Many of my items are rolled perfect exept no sockets in any of the good ones.
If there should be a change I think the chance of sockets should be raised unless there are a way to make sockets.
I cant use any of my unique jewels, I have no item to put them in.
I even got Shako and Griffons the other day without sockets. Griffons is hard to get to begin with, so the chance ill get a second with a socket is almost impossible. Its the first time I have ever got Griffons in my years in D2.
If a unique item (or set item for that matter) comes with a socket or not is predetermined, it’s a fixed attribute of the item itself. Like the unique ogre axe bonehew, it will always come with 2 sockets.
There’s no random chance of a unique getting sockets, the only way to get one socket on any unique is to use the reward of the first quest in A5.
Bummer, but ok
Thats a lot characters I have to level up lol.
Why bother, though? Uniques are good enough without sockets, normally. And those, that aren’t won’t be very better if they have one. You can’t form runewords (that’s only possible with at least 2 sockets, and only in normal (white) items.).
It’s just not worth it, to waste the reward for a socket in an unique… Use it for an exceptional or elite-item and make a runeword there. That’s worth a lot more!
Do you know you can do act 5 q 1 with uniques? Thats how u add ur light jewel to ur griffs
Yea i know I just dont want to level up 60 + characters to make 3 socket. Found another way to make my items sockets. ( playing offline only )
i’m not sure, but I believe, there exists a hordrim-recipe to add sockets to an item. I’m even less sure, this works on uniques, though. The only reason, that’s worth, adding a socket to a unique is for an etherreal item, socketing a ZOD there.
The recipe from the cube gives socket, but it’s always max sockets of the item, so if you want to have lesser sockets the chance for that to happen with that recipe should be 1/6th of a chance per socket. So let’s say a Thresher has 6 sockets max, but you need 5. It’s roughly 16% chance with the cube recipe to get 5 sockets.
