I have a trapsin lvl 84 and im stuck at the barbarians quest in Hell, i just cant kill them yet. I took the players 8 challenge so turning down difficulty is not an option.
I need to farm good items, specially a monarch for my spirit. Does anyone know where can i find it? It cant be cow level coz i havent finished hell yet, and as far as i know monarch doesnt drop in NM cows. Any advices where to farm? Also, do you recommend Andariel runs? Coz i canot do Mephisto, everything is lighting inmune there and i dont have teleport. Rip

A plain Monarch can drop in any lvl 72 (and higher) area. to make it easy: Hell Act 1 inner cloister and up are all lvl 72 or higher.

Mausoleum and The Pit also, I guess. At least, I’ve got my Monarch (even two of them) in The Pit.

Yes all the side areas are fine too but are usually much harder. The ones you mentioned are lvl 85 areas and on players 8 and undergeared very deadly and frustrating.

another tip for OP, since you mentioned Mephisto: Bosses are not a good source for basic gear. You run them for sets, uniques and the occasional OP yellow cirlcet/amu/ring/gloves.
Farming bases for runewords is done by killing lots of normal monsters.
Edit: and if its white items you are after get rid of your magic find. Magic find increases the chance of items to be magic and up, reducing the chance of them being white.

Is it absolutely important to make these Monarch search runs in 8 player mode? Of course, if it’s a challenge…
In my case, I tried the 8 player mode only on Normal in search of a Necromancer shield with +2 to Bone Spear and failed although during the process managed to levelup my Necro up to lvl 75. However, found two Monarchs. Ah, this is Diablo 2.
