Hello,
I have the following problem:
When playing with my online characters I get constant stutter every few seconds. The fps drop for a millisecond and constantly every few seconds. It’s like micro sutters. Sometimes 3 times in quick succession and sometimes only after 10 seconds. But I have constant fps drops/lag spikes, especially when I’m moving.
Funnily enough, really only with online characters. Everything works fine offline. How can that be?
I have this too on the lowest settings and even in classic graphics mode! With my system it is never due to the computing power. Then I would also have it in offline mode, but everything runs wonderfully there.
I have a really excellent 1GB internet connection that also works perfectly. However, I have very unsettled FPS when playing D2R Online characters.
Incidentally, I had the same thing in the D4 beta/server slam. It’s also an online game. What could be the problem? I just bought a brand new system especially for D4. High end to the hilt. A number of tests were run and hardware errors were ruled out. Drivers ALL updated. LatencyMon also says everything is ok.
Can it be due to the ethernet cable or is it more unlikely for the time being?
Given that it only happens with online characters, it sounds like you may be having some packet loss causing tiny disruptions to the smooth operation of the game, especially if you’re running WiFi. A great tool for diagnosing things like this would be WinMTR, which pings every step of the journey from your PC to our servers, once per second, so you can get a picture of what’s going on.
Hello again, I have to add that these stutters also appear in single player mode from the second act onwards. Still less than online but definitely there.
I’ll still let the program run and get in touch again by the end of the week. Thanks.
I don’t seem to be the only one with the problem though. Many complain about patch 2.7. This patch is said to be responsible for these stutter and vsync problems. Please investigate, Blizzard!
Edit:
Ok, I’ve now run WinMTR four times for 8-10 minutes.
Four times because there are two IPs for D2R and I tested these two IPs once each with an online character and offline character.
To whom or to which mail can I send the WinMTR now?
You can post them here in a reply labeling which one is which and we can go from there.
If you are not comfortable posting that data here, you can instead submit a ticket, detailing the issue, the steps you have tried and including the requested data. (You can only submit 4 attachments total and we will want an Msinfo/Dxdiag as well. So create the ticket with 4 files attached, submit and then reply to the ticket with the other 2 files.
Click your name at the top right of this page, click support, click contact support.
first of all thank you for taking it so seriously.
Below you can see the data from the individual runs.
I am curious if you can draw new conclusions from this.
However, I’m still afraid that it’s more of a performance/vsync problem caused by the 2.7.0 patch. At least that’s what many posts in various forums write.
If you need my DxDiag, then I’ll have no problem with sharing it as well.
This only helps a little. Applaying “realtime” priority in the task manager helps more. It reduces the stutter alot until its nearly gone.
But this can’t be the final solution. Blizzard has to fix this issue.
You can’t expect people to keep changing the priority or tweaking things in the bios just to get a game run smooth. A game that was smooth before.
blizard cannot fix anything just take a look of here servor in the last week and we have all your answer why you ahve to leave all the game of these company … we get robbed by this blizard we have already paid to play these d2r alots time ago and we never can have a good playing experience
Experiencing similar issues now. I initially thought it affected only online play, but I saw it happen offline too. Game stutters every couple seconds, and occasionally sound breaks up at the same time.
Used 3rd party tool to set application priority to High, does improve it a lot, plays smoother but sound does sometimes interrupt. Something is wrong with D2R running with Win11 task scheduler and heterogenous CPUs.
Tried manually setting affinity for performance cores, but game just slows down to a crawl, doesn’t look anything other than All Cores.
Should really be fixed, this hardware setup is only going to be increasingly more popular.
I have a new rig:
13700k
rtx 4070 ti
sammy980 pro 2t
asus z790 ddr5
corsair 2x16gb (32) SET, in slots 2,4
Temps are less than 60c on both my watercooled CPU and my RTX GPU with an over engineered HS. This is the only game that does this.....
I play Cyberpunk in 4k Ultra with 80 plus fps...
Every few seconds a stutter occurs no matter the game settings or where I am in game. Setting task manager priority, or changing what cores are enabled is just insane.
While D4 is fun until I killed Echo of Lilith before season 1, the game just feels like its designed to cash grab, not give me a fun experience that I paid 100 dollars for. So I would love to enjoy D2r as a game designed by pioneers of the time, and a Dev team that really cared about a fun experience.
Just bought an MSI laptop with nvidia 4070 on board and game stutters every second, and even harder (longer) stutters when I keep “show loot on the ground” button pressed. At the same time no problems with my old 1070 laptop. Pity
For those who came here from googling, and are running 12-13th gen intel it seems to be an issue with how the e-cores become parked, after running a program to unpark these cores the stuttering has gone away. Program called Parkcontrol will do this.
Oh gawd, its 3:23 on the clock, i’ve spend several hours, trying to fix this nasty microstuttering, tried so many things and your advice worked like a charm! Thank you! Now i can finally rest and sleep in peace
P.S. My cpu is i5-13600KF
это конечно хорошо, но! Что надо выбрать в программе? Какие настройки установить? 13700kf
Лично мне помогло переключение на “сбалансированно” в настройках электропитания Windows…
