Technical explanation for the problems shows: We're in alpha/beta

Thanks Blizzard for the technical explanation of the problems. Being a software engineer myself, it was really interesting to read it.

However, reading through all those points and the possible solutions one thing was always in my head: “Why the Diablo’s hell would you release a game as finished in such a state?” If you already have ideas on how to resolve all those issues, why haven’t they already been found/resolved in an alpha?

I mean, we’re not talking about the quality of the product and minor issues. We’re once again not able to play it at all. I usually can only play on weekends and this weekend again, I cannot login at all (due to endless queues and crashes). Such issues should really be resolved before release (it’s possible, other companies are able to do so).

I honestly don’t have time to perform betatests for you (although I was a huge Diablo 2 fan). And I would for sure not pay almost EUR 40 to do so.

I am not asking a complete refund. It’s fine, if we’re still in alpha/beta. Now, the only professional move without completely destroying the franchise would be: Officially admit to have released an unfinished product, reduce the price drastically (also for the ones who already bought it of course) and take your time to improve and finalize it now.

What about firing them all? It wouldnt solve the problem, but at least some justice would be made.

It was honestly better before the queue. Sure, couldn’t join most games or quit and join quickly but atleast could play for more than 10 minutes without a crash most nights. And when it did crash you got in usually straight away, instead of another 30 minute or more queue.

This is just beyond ridiculous now.
