Hello! I hope you all have a fantastic beginning to your week. I am enjoying D2R a great deal so far. There’s one little thing that’s bothering me quite a bit. Over many years, my friend group has developed profane vocabulary and harsh denigrating humor towards each other. No bigotry, misogyny or any other hate hate in the slightest(except maybe to druids). These half-roasts became a huge part of our group culture and the censoring sometimes makes it difficult for us to really get that tight-knit flow like we usually do and have the best time possible. I’m here to propose a new option when creating an online char or lobby that would allow the player/host to enable/disable the profanity filter. I do understand your motives for the profanity filter, what with the deluge of trash that seeks to subvert online communities all over, but I should think there must a way to deny hate speech while also allowing friends to express vulgar language to each other in private lobbies. All in all, not a super important issue of course, just one that could be easily implemented and I think might be well-received by many(after more pressing issues you’re surely dealing with). Thank you for taking your time to read this. And absolutely incredible job with this remake. Compliments to all the chefs!
Bottom line, if we can create private games with no profanity filter, it should not amplify the hate from the trolls who seek disrupt public games. What are your thoughts?
