Thawing potion not working?

1 thawing potion = 50% immunity to cold for 30 second. I take 4 potions so that should equal to 200% immunity to cold but Duriel still freezes me. How come? How does it work?

I think its the duration that stacks, otherwise you would be imune and godly

wearing duriels shell or a ravensfrost helps

Where do I find these items?

dunno try farming the game, andarial dropped a duriels last night in hell, so any place in hell is do-able, probably they can drop also in nightmare, same with ring got this off tinterweb

Diablo 2 Where To Find Duriel’s Shell

You have the highest chance drop rate to find Duriel’s Shell in (Nightmare Difficulty) Tal Rasha’s Tomb and other locations listed below.

  • (N) = Normal Difficulty
  • (NM) = Nightmare Difficulty
  • (H) = Hell Difficulty

Tal Rasha’s Tomb (NM)
Duriel’s Lair (NM)
Tal Rasha’s Tomb (NM)
Tal Rasha’s Chamber (NM)
Act 3
Spider Forest (NM)

Ring is easier in normal
Act Bosses from Normal
[Diablo] and on
can also drop it, but the most frequent droppers are Nightmare [Andariel] followed by Hell [Andariel].

Potions increase resist and max resist to cold.
These effects stack but It is capped and you cannot be immune, and it doesn’t protect from being frozen.

So far this week doing my added Farm runs (Andariel)
she has dropped 3 mana rings
2 ravenfrosts
2 Nagel rings (21% and 28%)

id say ive done just over 300 runs of her meph.diablo this week

As well as 2 vipermajis and 2 duriels shell (199% ED)

ravenfrost from andarial (HELL) - YouTube

The cap is 75% resistance, unless if you have increased max resistance from items. These can boost you up to 90%. You will never be immune to cold damage (except if you add cold absorb to it). However, what you really need is a simple “cannot be frozen” stat. You can find this on quite a few items.
