The Loot is bugged on Hell

Just killed Diablo on Hell. dropped 4 items with quality for Normal difficulty. The same was with Merphisto, did not even sell the items cause value <3k. Those items are not even usable on Normal…
I know that D2 is a game where loot and farming count a lot, but when this is bugged(because I can not beleive that this is the game, killing Andariel, Duriel, Merphisto and Diablo first time on Hell to drop extremely low queality items, I assume that here is a bug)m then whats the point of playuing this game? when anyway there is not end-game here and no loot…

Its crazy how sensitive people are to RNG, and simply will not accept that they got a few bad rolls.

You did not read my post,
First Andariel kill on Hell, 4 items not even usable on Normal, let them on the ground.
First Duriel kill on Hell, 4 Bows(I am playing Paladin) not even usable on Normal, let them on the ground.
First Merphisto kill on Hell, 4 items not even usable on Normal, let them on the ground.
First Diablo kill on Hell, 4 items not even usable on Normal, let them on the ground.

This is not Random !!! This is a clearly a bug.

Repeat, maybe you will read this time, I am talking about FIRST KILLING, QUEST KILL, of the 4 bosses ON HELL and they dropped ITEMS NOT EVEN USABLE ON NORMAL, repeat agin, NOT USABLE ON NORMAL, not in Nightmare, not in Hell, IN NORMAL !!!

You do not know what “random” is.
When I was in my logic and probability class back at uni, our professor told us to take a coin and flip it 100 times, recording each flip. As the coin toss is roughly 50/50, your brain tells you "there should be roughly 50 tails and 50 heads ± some error that you feel is acceptable. FEEL is the important part here.

During the tossing process you would sometimes get 10 heads in a row. Your brain screams “impossible! how did I just get 10 heads? Its 50/50!” Yet this is what true randomness is.

I invite you to perform the same exercise with the coin.

I think you are missing a little his point tho. He thinks that low lvl items shouldnt drop from bosses in for example hell difficulty.

In Diablo 2 even low lvl items can be good for higher level, in Classic for example Bowazons were even using a lvl6 set forever (Death Set) because how good it was.

A SOJ has the lvl req of 29, still everyone wants them.

Higher difficulties just mean they CAN drop higher tier weapons or armors but also doesnt mean that they are better than lower lvl ones.

And for quality of items, magic/rare/unique etc. is just pure luck, you can increase it by using MF gear (Magic find).

Its fine as it is, in Diablo it always took a long time to get what you want and thats how it should be. In Diablo 3 for example everyone is equipped in the first few days or a week, thats boring.

No, you do not have the equeipment so quick as you thing in D3. In D3 the builds are much more importnat than in D2. You can get some items to do the build, but those items are bad rolls, e.g. skills baonuses on items vary 300-500%, you can get a 350% one, but you must find at the end the one closer to 500%. Not even to mention Primals, which are very very hard to find.
And, in D3, besides items, the knowledge to play the build is very important(not like in D2 where if you have the items you just need to use 1 button, left click, e.g. for Paladin). The fun in D3 comes from findings items, doing the buidl AND KNOWING to play the build, which is very rewarding. Is not easy sometimes, you must use 4-5 skils in synergy…
Yes, I know, lots on people on D2 forum hate D2, most probaly they never understoo to play a single high end build in D3, that’s why. So they prefer D2, where you just need to click all day long. But D3 is far far superior.
Hopefully D4 will be more D3 oriented.

Ive played enough D3 I know how the game works and itemization is the reason why it fails, at least in my opinion of course.

mate I did get one unique/set drop on hell end act bosses and it was garbage. You need to farm em. Some days you will get multiple good drops, some nothing. its called rng. dont worry

Stop comparing d2 and d3… They are completely different games with different end goals and different itemisation.
If you prefer game like d3 you should not be playing d2 and expect to have the same experience.

I think OP is on to something. I have been doing Chaos Sanctuary runs every day so I know the spread of items and what to expect, both low-end and high-end luckwise. As of today Diablo is only dropped like 2 blues and a level 30 yellow. I killed him like 10 times and it has been like that. I think something screwed up the loot table.

When you read “As of today”, you just know people have a massive sample size to substantiate their conspiracies.

The game technically is broken loot wise. Enpherno a top streamer and best grailer has already spotted a big flaw with NM Cows unable to drop Cow King Set due to magic items generating the failed set.
This is either an oversight or Blizzard has changed things and not told us. Either way, it is horrible.

Yeah I am sure it is just that 0,0000001% chance streak that I am experiencing. Certainly not possible that they broke something.

there are no real unique items in d3 , some have one or two line that are aways the same and the rest is random , unique there is defined by the yellow text rest of the stats and rolls are random and its kind of stupid , at least in my opinion and about primals and accients or whatever they were called its just “adding depth” and a bunch of extra layers of grinding to this simplyfied botton masher , becouse you are finding the same uniques all day and just crossing your fingers they dont roll useless stats

the game in general is okay but its not diablo by any means other than the cinematics you get if you even play the campain

Nope, CK set spawns in NM and from the CK with the best drop rate with a MF of 550, silospen estimates that the hide should drop for example 1 every 104 runs. So no, not a “0.0000001%”. Around a 1%. And with 6 hours he only then bothered to check if it was spawning failed sets and sure enough, now its generating magic studded leathers with double durability meaning that its failed.

This should not happen from NM and it is currently impossible to get the set from CK in NM. So yes, they have broken it. Please don’t mislead people if you don’t even know about failed sets and what this means.

Try to do 100 farm runs on act bosses from hell diff like you do 100 runs in “far superior D3” in GRifts (and still you just need to click all day long) and then look at the results. Act bosses is not a GRift guardians, they don’t drop something useful everytime you kill them, even if it was q-boss, q-kill gives you near 250%~ mf which is not that big. You just got unlucky here. My MF-sorc have 370%~ mf and i have streaks of bad luck too with really bad drops, its normal. And after that i do andy+mef and get 8 unique items from them, it’s just random.

Same loot issues I noticed.
I made a lot cow run (over 100 now) in Hell, but something very strange with the drops (compared to the old D2). I know drop is random, but I see too many low lvl items and a relatively few high lvl items (regardless of unique/set/rare/magic/white). Just simple too much low and very few high drop. I didn’t run too much Baal and Dia,but I think there is the same situation.

The problem with Hell mode is that it only extends the loot table… It doesn’t omit the drops from the previous two difficulties at all so yeah, you’re going to keep finding normal and nightmare junk on Hell.

I get what the OP is complaining about though… He thinks the game should work like this:

Normal: Drops Items A to G.
Nightmare: Drops Items H to P.
Hell: Drops Items Q to Z.

In reality it works like this:

Normal Drops Items: A to G.
Nightmare Drops Items: A to P.
Hell Drops Items: A to Z.

This is precisely why we need loot filters because you’re sifting through more and more garbage as you increase the difficulty of the game.

nah loot is fine, i got the usual level 6 set drops and an essence

No loot is definitely not fine. I agree with OP, there are too much garbage drops. I made hundreds of runs Andy Hell, Ancient tunnels, Pindle, Mephisto and i still the same garbage sets like Sigon and others. These sets are not even good for normal. I am also not mention unique or rare drops.
I agree, that RNG should not be so wide on Hell.
I am running with MF 300 so it is not a badluck if you are doing 500 runs. You should get at least some interesting item. I didn´t get single HR drop and not even saw mid runes to drop ( only one gul).
