Hi folks, is The Pit still relevant in D2R and after all those patches? I have finally reached Tamoe Highlands and not sure if I need to invest time into it. In classical D2 it was very popular place, what about D2R?

Same as before, like ancient tunnels and other lvl85 areas.
A firm thumbs up from me. Not only good for high level uniques (albeit rarely) but great for those runeword bases also.
Great stuff! Can I expect any high-level rune drops or better later in game / countess?
Up to Vex from monster level on her, and I think up to Ist on her rune drops.
I drop 2 Mal ,4 Ist ,3 Gul ,1 Vex ,1 Ohm and some stuff like Shako ,Arach ,Bul Khatos,Tal amu on the pit.
It’s a good spot for sure ,if you play thunder carefull of the archers because of immune.
countess rune drop is maxed at LO, however you can find any high runes in hell
Edit : first holy grail (collect all items of the game) was made like 2 weeks ago, the dude was running only pit
Thanks man, that brings some hope to my current FO + FB build. I’m completely stuck with Fire-Cold immune countess and probably process into Pit directly.
For cold sorc just do ancient tunnels. Hardly any cold immunes there.
Thanks for a tip. I will give it a try once in Act 2. Is it the same like Pit regarding drops?
Yes and it’s perfect for cold based characters because it has no natural cold immunities.
Just look up a list of lvl 85 areas. They’re all like the pit considering drops, some are just more worth running than others.
Another example is the Mausoleum. It’s one of the dungeons next to Bloodraven. That one has no natural fire immunes.
You’ll have to Static her mob and leave it to the Merc. Can’t you Fireball them by the way? If all that’s left is the Countess you really shouldn’t be stuck. Don’t forget to kill all ghosts you see on your way down. They have a higher chance of dropping runes than other monsters. If you find a high rune in Tower, it will more likely be from killing ghosts than the Countess.
Hey Felix, I have managed to get Tresher and Insight for my merc. Now Tower is not a big deal to me. Not sure how I managed to reach Hell without Insight anyways, playing sorc

Now I’m to the point when I think to joing online community. I can’t afford myself farming 4 hours every day just to get Monarch or some runes because of real life.
The problem is that I’m absolute No0b with these PvP, Chat Rooms, Lobbies ets. Can only probably use discord and have some spare €€€ and that was it
