All I can say is that this charm has a very little effect on FoH Paladin. With my Frost Sorc + Charm the regular cold immune enemies take high damage as if they have no resistances (-160 resi by cold mastery).
When my Paladins FoH hits, they take just a small portion of damage (-150 resi by aura) as if a big portion of the aura is applied before the charms effect hits.
The lightning immune Scarabs in Oasis Act2 for example:
Without Sunder Charm FoH deals ~10% of their max life damage.
With Sunder Charm FoH deals ~20% of their max life damage.
Either it is intended that Conviction Aura doesn’t work well with Sunder Charms (sad for Infinity users) or its a bug.
Those charms are only useful if combined by sources of reducing resistances like Infinity or like Psyclon said Cold Mastery. If you don’t have a source to reduce monster resistance don’t bother to use them.
They last minute changed it so that the reduced effect is the same as breaking immunities. So Conviction Aura is applied by 1/5(-150 conviction will only reduce resistance by 30) of it’s value. Add facette and griffons to increase damage further
But why isn’t cold mastery affected by this 1/5 malus?
i would but thats useless with traps… isnt it? (the - res)
only infinity should work, but yeah …a long way.
But i feel happy with all sorcs. They were hard to play the last years… /sarcasm
