PLEASE oh please pleeeeaase add map icons for unique and set items. the mercenaries will go off screen killing enemies and you have no way to know if a set or unique item dropped, especially when you are trying to farm efficiently and fast. so many other reasons to add map icons for unique and set items! this feature would be SOOO helpful and wanted and needed! thank you for the amazing game!!!

Needed? Hardly. I think it’s great to reward diligent players that keep exploring and looking around with loot that others who want to play “fast and efficient” would overlook.
Map markers would only just eradicate the play style of the more slowly playing players and just reward going for speed.

they can make it an option you can turn off. I dunno I didn’t post this for your opinion. I play single player, and i really think this option is needed. I posted this for blizzard anyway, not your opinion

that’s fine, I understand people will see this and post their opinions, I just told you mine. I’m posting and replying with my opinion like anyone else. I just care that blizzard will see this, and positive opinions. I don’t care about negative opinions. that’s my opinion.

If you only care about opinions that are the same as yours, you’re still in the wrong place. And you are outing yourself as very… how do you say this in english? Intelectually dishonest? Ill prepared?
A smart man would seek out the opinions of his opponents to find the flaws in his own reasoning and adapt his world view and Ideas until they are flawless. But this is going off topic. We can close this thread now, since nothing needs to be posted here.

I’m talking about a feature in a videogame here. not the grand philosophy of life, thought, and the intricacies of human discourse. map icons for uniques and sets please! woohooooo! i will champion this till i DIE !!! 
Listen carefully and you’ll get used to the kind of drop noises you need to listen out for.

yeah, that’s good input… I even thought about at least sound cues for them, but you’re right they already have them. they’re pretty slight though, and sometimes I have to have the volume low, and wish there were map markers. plus people that are hearing impaired have a problem with this…
I worry a lot about missing drops too. Especially with my necro. So I listen intently (been playing the game for years so know the sounds) and just tend to check where my minion has been. So I’m always backtracking. One to watch out for is item clutter too. There are certain places in the game where so much drops on the floor that you won’t see all of the item names appear.

yeah, but it really sucks for the hearing impaired. we can’t hear the sound cues!!
I agree with the OP, it would be so much better farming solo where its all about speed. It also would remove the annoyance of text flooding your screen by holding ALT or leaving it on a toggle, I hate it when my screen is flooded with text but sadly right now is necessary.

This is a cool idea, would make farming more enjoyable. You would still have to manually check for rune bases but that’s fine with me. I enjoy sifting through the junk to find that potential piece of gold. With that being said I’d much rather miss out on a superior archon plate than a really good unique item or rune. There is actually a lot of stuff from diablo 3 that could be implemented in d2 and d4.
