Why the nerf? Make it like original d2 lod please.
The issue isn’t only stacking but the dmg is very very small.

At least, someone made a video to compare pre-bug-fix firewall d2r versus d2 lod firewall, and despite exactly the same dmg in tooltip, diablo died about 3-4 times faster in d2r
No need to worry. The damage is meant to be the same as lod now.
Yeah some guy said that post-bugfix to FW Diablo now dies 3-4 times slower in D2R compared to LOD.
Already made. Firewall works like in original D2 LoD since v2.3
Firewall / Orb was such a nice build for solo play… well back to meteor / orb .
Orb/ChainLightning is pretty nice too
Since i have to respec anyway, i might give this a shot. Thanks for the suggestion.
Basically if you go Orb, you have pretty a variety of options, since orb doesnt need the synergy, since its only 2% per point spent.
I know, i loved playing nova / orb, sadly it feels a bit weak right now.
Well, some people claim there is hardly any difference between running low level and high level Firewall, suggesting it’s still bugged, just in opposite way. Having only +5 to skills setup I’m also wondering what to respec into now.
The real problem with D2 is that you can’t really test anything if you just try to play for fun, without turning it into full time job.
Every piece of decent gear is super rare and so are essences.
Immunity mechanic is ridiculous, because there are hardly any builds that can deal with more than one immunity without some crazy gear worth months of mindless grind.
All you can do is just stick to current build saving your last respec until someone finds a build that’s actually fun to play, not a miserable experience of running from mobs or skipping whole areas.
Let me be the first to welcome you to Diablo 2.
Singleplayer, Charactereditor. Here you go.
By testing I mean making a build and trying it in a game. I don’t really see any additional respec options in offline game in comparison with online.
A PTR would be some kind of solution, but in general i think rerolling your build should be either free or obtainable with some common currency like gold.
Why deny player’s creativity with yet another grinding mechanics?
Again: Singleplayer, Charactereditor.
Test as much as you want.
Check your facts. The firewall buffed damage was a bug introduced with Resurrected. Probably as a knockdown effect of the game FPS calculations. LoD was never like this.
Personally I don’t like the nerf either. But for different reasons: Every time blizzard bugs out a new viable and fun build emerges. And every time blizzard tries to balance something, a build gets destroyed.
I hear you. Yes the immunity mechanic is a rather pathetic way to add challenge, but it’s all we have. I would suggest sticking to builds that are Immunity proof. That is, are hardly affected by it for one reason or another. That’s what I often do. Try a Bone Necro, Trap Assassin, Hammerdin or Wind Druid. So much less frustrating than a heavy elemental build. And of course skipping mobs is for casuals and weak players, so it’s win-win.
“nerf” is definitaly the wrong word… (:
I stand corrected.

Will do. Trying Necro now and gonna try Assasin next, although i’m seeing mixed opinions about viablity of Lightning/ Fire build in Hell. I guess I’m gonna find out myself… and Hammerdin must be the worst build design I’ve ever seen in looter/action rpg games, a walking carousel trying to fit within the walls.
My observation is that the game is most fun untill the start of Hell. Too bad they missed all the oprtunities to come up with something better than immunities over those 20 years.
My latest Sorceress (now Chainlight / Orb) doing fine in Hell act 1.
Haven’t even build Spirit yet and only level 70 (only +5 to skills).
