Upgrade unique armor

I read in a Guide that you can upgrade unique armor with the cube using that armor + Tal + Shael + Perfect Diamond. Why isn‘t that working?

Sure u have a normal base as unique?
Tal + Shael + pDiamond is for normal to nightmare.
Ko + Lem + pDiamond is for nightmare to hell.

Oh… I thought they all start as normal… anyway to see that on the item? Anyway haven‘t found a Lem Rune yet. I got Ko, a bit More grinding Lower Kurast then… :crazy_face:Thanks for the reply!
