What does 3x3 and 4x3 mean?

I’m new here
I think It’s about keys but don’t know how many and which type?

one set (3 keys) is one key of each type:

Destruction keys from Nihlatak.
Keys of Terror from the Countess in act 1.
Keys of Hate from the summoner in act 3.

One set in the cube opens a portal to one of three “bosses”. They drop the brain, the heart and the eye.
If you only open one portal, the boss will be random.
If you open all three portals (3x3) in a game, you make sure that you get each different boss to have the three organs needed to open yet another portal:

Ubertristram, where you fight the three Ubers and finally get your torch.

So basically, a 3x3 set of keys (3 of each type) is needed to get a hellfire torch.

4x3 is just to make some profit, for example if someone sells unidentified (unid) torches, he makes a little plus.

Hope that could help a little.

I know the basics of keys because I played original diablo 2 games long times ago
I do not understand all the shortenings in the trade language
I imagined that 3x3 would be 3 of each kind in total 9 keys but it could of been 3 sets to open portals wich means 27keys.
and 4x3 should be 4 of each kind of keys or could be 3x3 + 3 terror?

3x3 = 3 keys of terror, 3 keys of destruction, 3 keys of hate
4x3 = 4 terror, 4 destr, 4 hate
