Which one is better?
the +15 -15 or the +10 -20?
and how much does these 2 specific ones worth?
Depends on what you need it for. The more balanced your final + elem dmg and - enemy res are, the better.
On a sorceress, the + adds to lightning mastery, which is already quite high, so it’s the - that’s actually important. For all other classes the + is just as important as the - while you’re still aiming for balance at the end. Note that - enemy res becomes more and more significant as enemy resistances get higher. It’s crucial against monsters whose immunities have been broken since they’ll be near 100%
On the other hand, monsters cannot have less than -100 res and infinity already takes 85 away, so it is possible to go overboard with enemy resistance reduction against regular monsters while trying to ensure good damage against broken immunities.
Edit: on a Javazon I’d take 15/15 while on a sorc - 20/10. Both are worth over a Ber and imo less than 2 Ber. Actual trade value depends on buyer/seller and their current needs and capabilities
The only grifon i droped is a 15/15 and I use it on a javazon along with the infinity.
I was just wondering which of he ones I said is more valuable.
Well, you asked which one was better.
In terms of value, I’d say these rolls are of similar value, although it is still subjective and depends on the buyer mostly. I’ve sold 15/15 for BerLo and 19/10 for BerOhm some time ago.
Minus enemy lightres is always the more important stat. Problem is that some people are bad at math, that’s why this doesn’t translate 1:1 into the value of the item.
I beg to differ. Imagine a javazon with 1000 damage with Infinity merc. On a monster with X% lightning resist, she would deal 1000*(1+lsd%)*(1 - max(X-85-enemyLR, -100) ) damage. Let’s compare the effect of -10 enemy res to +10 lightning skill damage when X=0,25,50,75
+10% lsd (damage is now 1100)
X = 0 => 1100x1.85 = 2035
X = 25 => 1100x1.6 = 1760
X = 50 => 1100x1.35 = 1485
X = 75 => 1100x1.1 = 1210
-10% enemy lr (we now have X-95 in the formula)
X = 0 => 1000x1.95 = 1950
X = 25 => 1000x1.7 = 1700
X = 50 => 1000x1.45 = 1450
X = 75 => 1000x1.2 = 1200
The - part will outweigh the + part only when your enemy has more than 85% lightning resistance. Simple math.
The reason javazons and lightning sorcs wear griffon are lightning immunes. Monsters that are not immune get the full effect of merc conviction aura and those types of monsters are no problem to kill anyway.
A lightning immune monster gets only a tiny fraction of %reduction from conviction aura. If I recall correctly, a 100% resistance gets broken and lowered to 83%. After the immunity is broken, the -lightning res from gear is applied. Therefore an additional -17% lightning res from gear doubles your damage. This is so powerful that the most experienced players place crescent moon at the top 2 of lightning sorc weapons, the other one being HOTO.
in the end you probably wont notice the difference between -20 and -15
