I’m a “lone wolf” type of player. I like to play online, but I don’t do PvP or trades. Maybe I just like the idea of if someday I just decide, I can trade some rare items after my hundreds of hours invested in the game.
But, I could be doing it right now with so many things that are just food for Charsi, things that aren’t worth spending hours in the lobby to see if anyone is interested, but that could help other players with their own chars.
If we had a handy system to advertise items in a game market, where other players could easily find items with some filters (with their names or status/effects), I believe the experience of players (veterans or beginners like me) could increase 100%.
If devs are concerned about the game quality-of-life, this is definitely an implementation that would greatly improve D2R experience as an modern version of the classic.
Furthermore, this is something that many players already use through alternative sites, including in the specific subforum here.
As this type of improvement always comes from a community commotion, here’s my record of a first-time player who loved the game and immediately missed a market in the game where we could search items ads and make proposals that the another player could simply accept or not.

Use the d2 trading discord. I just got started and can’t believe how convenient it is. I can even look at trades away from my pc.

Tried to use Discord. It asked me for phone number, ok, i give ti to receive an auth code. Then it asked me for e-mail AND for e-mail password :))) for e-mail password, not discord password.
Is Discord a scammer?

This is something that was already tried in the past, and even with the best intentions, this system didn’t end up beneficial for the game.
Wyatt Cheng (who worked on Diablo 3 at the time) recently gave his thoughts on the whole auction house thing. It’s a good read if anyone’s interested.

Oi, lad, @Crow is right. Don’t you wanna facetank some of sh#tstorm happening out there? I know, it feels bad, but the longer blizzard keeps silence, the worse are reputational losses.

that was because blizzard didn’t understand the whole trading concept. it started with real money and ended with p2w.
it would need a bazaar.
for example: i put in an IK armor and ask for rune xy or set xy and you can ask me ingame if you want to trade xy for it.
something like that instead of a currency or other crap.

The AH was blizzard wanting real life $$ tax for in game player action and it ruined an already shitty d3.
Blizzard is a piece of work huh?

You know, blizzard was an iconic game developer once. We didn’t just play your games, we loved blizzard. And, though, now I won’t even bother to write its name with a capital letter, still, with all respect to it’s past, a simple “sorry” would be enough. I know, all these PR politics, “never say sorry, it means that we are the ones to blame” and so on. But you’re in deep deep shit now. It might be you didn’t realize it yet. But by spoiling your eternal classic you’re denying last of what was the reason to respect blizz.

Anyway who said a in game market need to envolve real money?
Just having a platform in game will help alot of traders and will also help to avoid blackmarket.

If i may notice - problem in d2 occurs couse of multiple trade games that occur on hell diff instead of normal gameplay, or runs… There is no sort system, nothing that could let you choose if you wanna do a trade game or rather normal runs.
And above all refresh time of shown games (with ridiculus limited amount to 30? games on list) with not saving the game name that you clicked on provides you huge problem to do anything anyway.
That simple sort system would be nice solution after all to make easier life for either traders and simple happy players. Please consider that.
i loved the d3 AH , 2 beeeeez 2 beeeez al over the place xDDD
Blizz, what is the discussion here? Are you pretending to not understand what we all want?
Just copy damn diablo2io or poetrade into the game and that’s it. You don’t have to think! Don’t invent! Just copy!!
try out traderie com - nice d2r trading plattform, already made over 100 trades.
or discord channel, just google: sanctuary (trading) - diablo 2 ressurected and click on the first link
It was tried on a different game with real money, D2 actually have black market ah, unless you close them , its better to have an official, also d3 ah was between gold and real money, and noone asking for a ah . I believe most want a trade platform where you put an item you found and ask its worth at runes , also trade runes for runes , while you are at work cause many dont have the time to just trade , some do whooray for them but many have jobs kids.
I too, would like an in game item listing and trading platform.
With only D2R items to trade for other D2R items, no cash, no forum gold or currency, etc.
That is where D3 messed up, no item for item trades, and rmah, which is pay 2 win.
Trades would be under:
- Looking for item. I want a Shako, so search all listings for it, willing to pay Gul
- Trading an item. I have a Shako, someone make me an offer
Examples:
I found Vex but need Ohm … is someone willing to swap for it?
Want Shako, willing to trade Gul for it
I am totally agree with Blizzard here, ah is the worst possible solution, I dont want to have an easy way to find between all the Shakos in the ah, order them by price and pick the cheaper one, I want the old chat system just that, because this means that the people has to learn about the prices to do a good deal.
Pls just give us what we have paid for, we paid for a remasterization so for all the functionalities that the original Diablo had, including the trade chats.
D2JSP, best website ever.
