A post regarding feedback you can't refuse

Hi!

This is me, infamous Livepig. No wall of text (or small one), just simple points.

  • D3 was terribly tested, mechanics were changed soon after release (important one, I still think 4-stage D2 style would be better than choose-your-poison Torment 56. Beta testers had access to 1/3 Act 1 and your internal testers kept knowledge of useful bugs and abuses for later (ahem, RMAH), instead reporting them. That was not how things are done

  • You have some demo in some state. Don’t be cheap! Release the demo, release another it occasionally when important stuff happens. Release it with different difficulty settings

  • Make beta wider, and select testers which are to advance into one category higher, people who gave good feedback and address problems more complicated than graphical glitches. Give them access to more content. If the game is good, nobody will fulfill their desires on limited content beta

And, of course “Livepig for President”. As the only live (pig, or person) besides Brevik and Schaeffners who UNDERSTANDS D2:LoD - what, why and how much, also with substantial beta tester experience in ARPG, well, you’ll practically have to.

There are already few ugly things raising their several ugly heads at Blizzcon - nothing is unfixable, except D3, don’t go into inflation - “I know who are you. I know why you’re here. I know what will happen to you”

So, Livepig for beta-tester! No inflation. Good control on game aspects (instead random or unnecessary as in D3). Good balance - I am balancer - mostly in mods, but also in few commercial program for 20+ years.
