A suggestion to the equivalization between the Greater Rift levels and the Torment levels, and more for D3

Hi.

Pardon me for bringing this suggestion here, but I didn’t know a better place to put this suggestion.

It’s about the torment levels and the Greater Rift levels.

I find it really weird why the team behind the continuous development of Diablo 3 haven’t added more torment levels which would be the equivalent of a certain Greater Rift level (like Greater Rift level 75 which is the equivalent of Torment level 16) … why not add more. I mean the equivalents of all of the other Greater Rift levels are already there (like Greater Rift level 70 which is equivalent to Torment level 15, Greater Rift level 65 which is equivalent to Torment 14 and e.t.c. until Greater Rift level 25 which is the equivalent of Torment level 6). Like it would only make sense. And they could set it up so that the player had to complete a certain Greater Rift level to get to the next Torment level (For example: Beat Greater Rift level 100 in order to gain access to Torment level 21 (of cause meaning that the player would unlock a new Torment level every 5th. Greater Rift level.). Thereby the players will get more of a sense of achievement, which will then make them want to climb even higher (maybe add more milestones as well, like they’ve already done for some of the already existing Greater Rift levels, so that it becomes visible to them as well so that they can see how far they have come).

And in terms of the items along the way… make it so that the items that the players can get are equivalently better the higher they climb, like how the items have gotten increasingly better stats as they have levelled up, up until level 70 (I mean, there’s nothing wrong with the abilities or affixes on the items themselves, it’s just that the numbers need to be equivalently better).

And I know… this creates quite a bit of a problem in terms of the Primal Ancient-items (and now Ethereal items), which was, most likely, just a “quick and easy”-type of idea to begin with that didn’t really work… they obviously have to go.

And to potentially make it more difficult in the Greater Rift levels… add an extra Greater Rift Guardian the higher the Greater Rift level, starting from like let’s say level 100 (seems like a nice and even number and quite a few players have already reached this level) and then add one extra Greater Rift guardian per let’s say 25th. level (seems like a fair number at the moment) (granted… we’re starting to talk about more Greater Rift levels, but it is necessary in order for the players to be able to keep on climbing (and again… to give them a sense of achievement)). For instance… starting with Perdition and add that one to Voracity, and then take Sand Shaper and add that one to Dervish Lord (like in the different realms that are gained access to by the different Infernal Machines), and then just add one more per 25th Greater Rift level, which in the end, will end up with all of the Greater Rift guardians on the same map, which will then be the final Greater Rift level.

And I know… this will probably affect some players’ computers performance negatively in terms of having to process that amount of content, but let’s be honest… that, most likely, is the smaller amount of people. But then again, let’s face it… the ones affected by it, needed a better computer, to begin with anyway. I mean the recommended specs in terms of graphics card for this game is an NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX™ 260 or ATI Radeon™ HD 4870 or better, and for the CPU it’s the Intel® Core™ 2 Duo 2.4 GHz or AMD Athlon™ 64 X2 5600+ 2.8GHz. You can’t tell me that the majority of gamers nowadays don’t have, what is at least the equivalent of that.

Now… I know that I’m not the first one to come with a suggestion on how to make the game better (or finish it (at least in terms of the equivalization between the Greater Rift levels and the Torment levels)), but I hope that I have brought a more elaborate idea on how to do it because the players are tired of waiting (and you don’t need to take my word for it. Just listen to them on Twitch for instance). They need something more, and this is exactly that… a finishing touch if you will to a good product.

This way you can also move on to a (hopefully) better product, that of which you can make.

With the kindest regards.

An old fan of the D3-universe.
