Ok, I’m sure this has to have been asked a million times by now, yet we haven’t broken the camel’s back yet. While macro’s are not allowed, there is no reason that our passive abilities can’t either have a “right click to autocast” or just be toggle abilities on off.
Wizard’s shield, familiar, magic weapon and any other ability that has a long enough up time, that by default it can be used again long before the ability duration ends, should be make into a toggle ability and just decrease your available resource pool.
Other abilities that are not attacks and have CD times longer than the duration should be made to allow “right click to autocast” where they will refresh upon ready state.
Now, I’m not just asking this to be lazy but because myself, my friend and many others have disabilities that can limit or impact our ability to play the game. I myself having shoulder problems limiting the use of my left arm for long duration’s of time. It would be much easier to play certain “button mashing” build if the passive abilities would manage themselves, and I could just focus on the mouse, attacking and moving.

Ah a decent human being I see, so full of compassion. Nobody pays my dues and going to the gym wouldn’t solve anything. So keep your BS to yourself. As for the game, there is no reason not to have accessibility features so everyone is able to play.

Honestly I feel having skills like storm armour or ice armour autocast would be acceptable… or just have it on permamently and lower max resource by 5.
Dungeon seige 2 was similar to an ARPG, but the spells were weapons you could put in your spell book. It allowed for 4 activate spell (ones you select and cast), 4 autocast spells (cast when conditions met… combat one was corspe armour) and 2 other spells for easy switch out.
their are lots of easy ways to add autocast to a game and I think it would be accepted if it is the long duration self cast spells that we would not want turned off.
Give your shoulder a rest once in a while instead of trying to game for 8 hours straight. I also have trouble doing that but iv’e made peace with it instead of expecting things to be redesigned according to my specific needs. Changes like that impact all players, not just the people they were made for.
For many players, perhaps even most, autocasting skills would deter from the joy of interactive gameplay.
And before you start proclaiming “then don’t use that option”, you also have the option of taking better care of your body instead of unnecessarily exerting it beyond it’s capabilities, all for the sake of a computer game (which is an optional activity that you choose to do, not mandatory).
I know it sounds harsh, but people shouldn’t impose their personal needs upon others in a pushy way. We all have our own personal needs and we should adjust to the world we live in, not expect the world to conform to the rare few.
Special needs are not a free ticket to having everyone bow to your every wish.
There’s always gamepads and various other pc peripherals to assist playing one handed. Then you could use them for any game.
I am perfectly healthy, yet i find some builds only enjoyable on autocast like wand of woh wizard.
Thats 3 buttons that you smash constantly.
Why put so much strain on your upper limbs and your keyboard? Does it take any strategy or skill to be able to hit 3 buttons on constant.
