Last IP I was interested in from Blizzard again has a seasonal pass. This game DOES. NOT. NEED. A. BATTLE PASS.
It’s a FOMO system that chains you into playing in a limited time.
You’re dead to me Blizzard.

You don’t need a battle pass to play the game, including the seasons.
All that the pass will give you are cosmetics and perhaps bit faster start in a season.
And that’s the preium side. The free side of the battle pass is always available to everyone and contains all the gameplay affecting features.
The real question for me is what ongoing content will be supported by the money they make from the season passes, we have been told in the past that D3 didn’t get more because it didn’t have ongoing revenue like other games, so will this mean that we get things like new classes coming to everyone due to them or will they try and double dip by also selling expansions too.
The point is that the base game (depending on version bought) costs £60, £80 or £90. They’re wanting Battle Pass money on top of this (even if optional), i.e. they want AAA money up-front, but ongoing revenue like a F2P game.
True. And buying a battle pass up to four times a year at 20€ (if that’s the price?) isn’t my cup of tea…
