Buff support monk pls

This is far beyond the most boring class to play. Every move is defence or a little bit density. Rare monks use attack speed rune on mantra but the rest only dance with the elites and buff my resistance to skyhigh limits so I can faceroll and sleep while in game. Support monks are killing adrenaline is what I am trying to say. Also n00bs wont play without them killing a lot of groups. They are the only mandatory class this day for higher grifts even if grift is clearable w/o monk.

And if two monks joins the same game and wants to play, who do we kick? They are all exact body double of each other…

So, you don’t bother to see which has more HP, whether they have maxed legendary affixes on their Oculus and Strongarms, how much CDR they have, their health globe bonus, their level of Caldesann’s Despair (and whether they’ve gone pure VIT, pure INT, or a mixture) and their Life Per Hit?

maxed out oculus is nothing but a few % more improved. the same goes for strongarm if a monk has it with 28% I would not trade him out for a monk with an primal strongarm since his stats does not matter.

face it. Monk is the lazy guys way for paragonlevling and gem levling.

With caldesanns monks improve only their armor a little bit and 50% of caldesanns function goes to waste since dps is unimportant. If they choose vitality in caldesanns it does not matter that much either because when a guy hits over 1 million HP he will die as quick as a monk with half his hp if he encounters dmg that is his weakspot (hp gets drained in a couple of seconds).

I dont bother to look at a monks stats I just ask him if he can survive a certain level and if its a yes I start the game and if he is unsure I just switch game or ask him to leave so in a way all the monks I PLAY with is the exact double.

When you’re pushing and trying to obtain a new GR clearance record for your party, the Support Monk having Strongarms with less than 30% and Oculus at less than 85% can be the difference between beating the timer or not. Their Life Per Hit and their Health Globe bonus also make marked differences to the amount of healing and/or shielding they can generate because the skills they use to do this are buffed by a percentage of these values. So, these values that you don’t even look at can mean the difference between clearing or not and how easy it is for the Monk to keep everyone alive.

First you claim all monks are the same, then you say you don’t even bother to inspect them to see the differences. It sounds like the monks you’re encountering, and the differences between them, aren’t the problem.

I play pub games, it is very rare to get into groups with primal wearing monks.

There are two types that I know and that is monks that like to stand in the fire and the ones that dont like to stay in the fire and gear is unimportant since a paragon 900 monk without good gear can outplay a monk with good gear.

The difference between them is that bad monks quit the game and good monks makes me snooze in front of the keyboard while facerolling my dick over the keyboard without paying attention not even in my dreams.

Support monks are all the same, 100% defence and nothing else even if they wear strongarm, I am DH and already got strongarm. As a DH I cant stand in occulus field anyway since I need to position myself were I can hit the target with first knife. The only class that benefits from support monk is wizards the other classes are fine without them since enemies split into four groups each attacking one and another.

These rage threads from sodril are funny (and sad). He’s like all over the place. If he was a “serious” player he wouldn’t be playing random public games… and then come running complaining about them here.

Public games are fast paced.

It’s entirely possible for legendaries to have max value affixes without them being primals. The Strongarms on my Support Monk are an excellent example…
https://eu.diablo3.com/en/profile/Meteorblade-2266/hero/120004303
…I swapped the ancient bracers in to replace a set of primal Strongarms I had previously been using because the primal had less effective affixes for support.

Anyway, if you’re in a 4-man GR group with a support Monk, they’re already applying the damage bonus to every single mob they suck in with Cyclone Strike / Implosion so your bracers are providing no benefit to the group’s success.

I can create a support DH that has double the damage increase for team than support monk and that includes one strongarm bracer and vault but you are so snowed in with monk that you probably dont understand that every class can have strongarm. This is the last off topic post by you in this thread that I am answering.

And that DH will provide zero healing / shielding / gathering of mobs.

A support DH can never replace a support monk apart from games where support isn’t really needed - or games where the other players are unable to take advantage of what the support monk does. One of the advantages of a support monk is that the dps party members can go full (or close to full) glass cannon and maximize damage output.

And Meteor… since sodril wont answer you anymore he probably thinks that a DH with bolas (and ess of johan?) can replace the monk!!! Oh he’s so imaginative.

This guy is 100% clueless. Inspect all this monks. At medium grs (around 120) most of them have no health globe bonus. Support monk is as hard to gear as any other dps spec. Monk is extremly important in 4 man pushing.

meteorblade: mark of death, guardian turret and bola-bow + ess off johan

druitz: Ive seen non n00bs gear for less in high grs (120 cant be medium imho) and they survive thx to mobility skills but they are few. What I understand from what you write is “monks must have perfect gear for higher grifts and it is about gear and not skill”.

Jazz: Why not?

So, your counter is to mention items which have a chance of pulling mobs in rather than a guarantee to do so, and to completely ignore the fact that a DH provides absolutely zero healing?

Of course it can. Hell, there are players doing higher than that solo. You should also take a look at the leaderboards. For softcore, seasonal, 4-man, the top 460 ranks are GR150s, with Rank 1000 being a GR142. GR120 is not even close to being a high GR any more for 4-man META groups.

At lower GR levels, a lack of gear can be compensated for by skill.
At lower GR levels, a lack of skill can be compensated for by gear.
At high GR levels, a lack of skill or gear can’t be compensated for.

Meteor has already said it. When you stand right next to the support monk you can survive virtually anything. (At some point it helps with a support barb too of course). A support DH can never accomplish this - not even mentioning that he will struggle to keep himself alive.

Lack of gear can delay a player it is true, but if par is 12:30 minutes pre-game in grift 122 then I can afford to play without the best upgrade in some slots and still finish on time. Just like some monks are good at avoiding standing in fire and fistpump buttons, he instead moves aside and keeps cycloning there or am I talking about the impossible? cuz it seems impossible when I read your text.

How much arcane resistance do you have? how many % unbuffed? Can you throw some of that away or is it locked?

Here you go…

And if arcane resistance only was like 900 while the others stayed the same would that affect you in a way that 120+ becomes unclearable for your party? Have you ever escaped and skipped an elite to find another with better affixes in 30 sec anytime?
