Cannot get Gibbering Gemstone - Quit the game

Im trying to get the “Gibbering Gemstone” i have killed chiltara maybe 200+ (no exaggeration) times and thats not including all the runs he didnt spawn or cave wasnt there, and it just dosnt fall.

I tried it on every single difficulty, and ive spent idk how many hours doing this that i now just hate this game.

FIX YOUR GOD DAMN DROPRATES FOR THIS ITEM!!!

Why do people need to quit your game simply cause they cant progress in game because of this bullshit drop chance.

Think about ur players for once no one is enjoying farming the same garbage item we will never even use once for hours and hours, just to not be gated by ur stupid requirments for the tree.

You are making people hate ur game. If there is ANYONE AT ALL that even slightly enjoyed the staff of herding farming steps and thought its fun please write so i may know.

On the US forum, many people claim that farming her at lvl 1 seems to increase the chance of GG drop. Others say that Torment 7 is the best difficulty.

Jazz has posted a video here where you can farm her in Campaign mode instead of Adventure. You only need to get halfway to Act 3 until the quest: Machines of war, which is easy with a fast build. The campaign has the advantage that if Caverns of Frost appear in your game, then Chiltara is a guaranteed spawn (but the GG is not a guaranteed drop). Still, it’s one layer of RnG less. The portal and the map layout are the same as in Adventure mode. The disadvantage is that you have to spend 30 minutes in campaign or so to reach this quest.

I can confirm that in Campaign mode, Chiltara always spawns in CoF

Guides on these topics are just for generating Youtube views; Same as with primals, it’s random and out of your hands, but frustrates lots of people enough to make them watch some dude talking about nothing in particular for 10 minutes.

Thing is, these droprates are just crazy low. The last - and ONLY time I got a Gibbering Gemstone, was BEFORE the Reaper of Souls expansion, and even that took a fair few tries.

I’ve been at it last day; Hitting the spots for the Liquid Rainbow, the Gibbering Gemstone, and the Plans. Nothing. Got the Mushroom & Shinbone in 2-3 tries.

The reward is just too slight for this much work. Farming these places draws you away from normal gameplay, you’re not gaining XP, gear, nor materials, you’re wasting your day off, all for the slight, slight chance of attaining the ability to open the pony portal at will, and in this season, gaining the last 2 buffs from the altar -which will likely be the ones you wanted the least, + the doubled primal drops, which are rare enough anyway that I don’t really mind if it’s 1 or 2 items.

All the components & recipe should just drop at a 100% chance.

In which case, you obtained it before things were changed. Pre-ROS, Chilltara had a much lower spawn rate but had a 100% drop chance of the gemstone, i.e. if you found her, you knew you’d be getting the item. Later on, they increased her spawn rate but made the drop chance of the gemstone much, much lower. I preferred the old way but it is what it is.

Meanwhile for me, I still haven’t found an ancient puzzle ring. Reforged one about 13 times and spend all my blood shards and rare upgrades on rings…

If D4 has progression this RNG-based I’m going to regret playing it. RNG like this (or in your case) really does kill my enjoyment of any game.

I finally got my Gibbering Gemstone last night (about 11 hours total hunting for it, over three nights) and crafted my staff…

However, like yourself, I’m not actually at the stage to use it yet as I too am missing an ancient puzzle ring. I’ve got a puzzle ring, and I’ve re-forged 18 times, and didn’t get an ancient before I ran out of materials for the reforging.

I used recipe 11 in the cube to get an ancient puzzle ring.
I tried to reforge one but ran out of souls pretty fast. Recipe 11 of course means that you need some luck getting a few primal drops.

Funnily enough, I also am not getting primals to use recipe 11 lol…

At paragon 908 or something, I’ve gotten 3 drops total. My brother gave me 2 to get a second potion, and I didn’t really think about using them for the puzzle ring.

Feels like RNG is screwing me at every corner. I hit 200 on my set leaderboard (NA. For some reason Bnet always takes me to EU forums.) and have one ancient item…my primal ancient weapon from the cube.

The only plus to it, is that I know to never gamble in real life; it’s a lesson I learned early in life.

What about the lvl31 strategy with witch doctor? Does it drop ancients or just legendary puzzle rings?

I found mine from reforges. Double bounties help a lot if you have unlocked them.

Doesn’t work. Can’t be made ancient. According to what others have said in forums.

This gets you puzzle rings but as they’re not level 70 rings they can’t be ancient and they can’t be reforged to ancient in the Cube.

With 200rio s you are very unlucky, I got it after 4 try’s. My friends took like 20 try’s but 200 is mehhh I guess.

I’m par 7++ and still can’t get Ramaldani’s gift. Now it’s kinda boring, can’t progress Altar of Rites, although i have ancient Puzzle Ring and Staff of Herding and some other stuff, but they are useless now…

Have you considered joining public rift groups and asking nicely if someone would drop one for you if they get one?
