113 gr going brilliant elite pack all of a sudden game just freezes… re comes back all proqs are there… second later crash stutter again and then bang hero dead… no internet issues or nothing… wow i really don’t want to quit playing but… i don’t want to continue when this issue is here… is it just the wizzard doing this?
The only real solution is, sadly, don’t play hardcore. Over the years there has been lots of reports from players about losing heros because of all sorts of problems and glitches, especially after new patches. The latest patch is no exeption.

There are multiple issues surrounding Firebird / Mirror Images / Sound Channels and the use of the CoE ring…
Lowering the number of sound channels (to 16 or 32) can help…
…as can unequipping your CoE.
Until these issues are resolved (and they’ve been outstanding for weeks at this point) I wouldn’t play hardcore on a FB Wizard, or with one in the party, on hardcore. You’re just asking for a dead hero.

Unfortunately, you need to make peace that this will happen and kill your character. This currently is one of the worst times regarding to lags and freezes that i 've personally seen for years. I play hc in this seaon (don’t ask my why) i have the cheat death passive on my self and one on my follower and i have watched them proc many times because of that on top of an already tanky build that i made. I am thinking using the amulet that breaks too, but i think sooner or later lag will kill me. Better be prepared and have duplicate pieces and gems of ease in your stash to jump to your next character.

It’s not just the Wizard, it’s not just seasons and it’s not just hardcore.
as a presently non season player, my Demon hunter, wizard and monk sometimes go into 20-30 second screen freeze in an otherwise normal green latency rift. Sometimes it happens on entering the 1st floor/map.
All my characters have Cof E so that could be the cause - hitherto i didn’t know about this issue until the prior post by Meteorblade
the issue as well is i don’t enjoy non hardcore i just don’t get that thrill or buzz… even path of exile i learned the game in hardcore lol its just how i enjoy to play these games… and i am gutted because i really don’t want to stop playing but i have no reason to stay playing this was no casual stutter this was a crash that will 100% happen again… i even have spare ancient gear saved… but i just cant be bothered now i know my character will die for no reason when i get to rifts past 110… i have a high end rig as well 32gb ram asus rtx 2080ti intel i9 cpu… no matter what settings i ran the game on it was stuttering in packs. loads of people have talked about this and this really concerns me for diablo 2… i actually had 2 primal set pieces as well that was a blow
