Crit Chance on Channeled Skills?

How do you calculate crit chance on channeled skills? is it by my Attacks per Second?

So lets say my APS is 1
Crit Chance is 50%

So if i channel Fire Bats (WD) or Disintegrate (Wiz) for 2 seconds

I will obviously crit?

For channeled skills, critical chance is calculated normally for each individual tick.
Disintegrate for example does not inflict constant damage over time, it rapidly inflicts several bundles of damage each second. Just turn on damage numbers and you can see that the hits and damage from disintegrate is applied as several ticks per second, these each have their own chance to crit.
It can also be noticed that when casting disintegrate on low hp enemies, their health does not fall consistently. It will quickly drop in segments, corresponding to the damage from each tick.
