D3 needs a better groupfinding system

Hey There!
Intro (you can skip reading this): I play D3 (and also former d2) since the beginning, i sticked with it through thick and thin with a few breaks. D3 started as a really unfinished game, with a lot of flaws, but now it is a quite balanced game which I really enjoy to play. The last seasons i only played hardcore season eu, which used to have a very low gamer-population.
Now actually there are more ppl playing d3 hc again, and one of the biggest flaws becomes more apparent to me, to the point where i really want to mention it:

Group finding!

I know D3 already saw a couple of tweaks and improvements to it, but it is quite far from a good user experience.
There are 16 torments atm, in each of them you can join for bounties/grifts/rifts… however, usually in hc you find 0 in any bracket, early season u regularly find some people in t16, and sometimes some doing bounties in t13. However, you always need to “try” each torment to see if there are actually people and what kind of players are there (class, plvl, afk, leechers,…).
For bounties this is fine I guess, but when it comes to GRifts it becomes a problem.
Cause those people in joining t16 grift parties have very different opinions of about what grift they wanna do:

  • some wanna farm 75s (which equals t16), some want 90s, some 100s…
  • some prefer chill slow runs
  • others complain when the run lasts more than 2 minutes
  • then there are those parties that lack damagedealers or supporters,…

Quite often the groups just disband after a few minutes of waiting, after a run or even midrun. I think this issue is more apparent in hc than in sc.
This is quite frustrating and often enough i find myself just logging off the game after a few minutes cause i cant find a group.

Okay you can now say: why dont u find a community or a clan that suits you?
Well, I noticed that people became more socially awkward, or lazy over the last years. I often ask in communities with 100+ players, and if you are lucky 1 responds, but in hc it’s almost impossible to find a full party without spamming the communities for minutes.
Long story short:
Please, make it easier to find fitting groups via an external groupfinder, similar to the one you introduced in overwatch, you can even take WoW-system for finding m+ groups, anything would help.
Anyways, I am happy this game became some new attention lately,
greetings Scrya

A simple expansion of the game-tags beyond just 1 catch-all for all greater rifts would be really useful, it’s true. If there were about 5 tags for greater rifts, each for a different range of levels, it would help matchmaking a lot.

Finding public groups for GRs in high torment levels can be tiresome sometimes, when the games first have 10 minutes of people constantly joining then leaving after 5 seconds and declining GR prompts when they appear, before finally 4 people accept one. Even then some players joined that level for a speed run with an OP build while others were hoping for more of a challenging push.

If we could select a tag closest to the GR level we want to play, along with a tag each for “speedruns” and “limit push”, matchmaking a balanced team where all players are close to each other’s power level would be much easier and quicker.
There could also be a tag for “META teams” so that players with one of the expected builds for a 4-player META run didn’t have to wait so long before finding the team composition they all look for.

And when we are in a group I would love if it was possible to turn on show party loot drops.

Lootsharing is very commen but if you and not in the same guild you have to write every item you looking for and that can easy “bother” the person loot boosting you or you if your teh one boosting or just waste time all in all.

Like we can see drops in clan even when we are not playing together, then we should be able to do the same for the party that we are in atm.

Then when a item drops that one guy dont care about it can be given tol the one that needs !

Just a simple thing like adding 2 options instead of greater rifts.

  1. Nesting
  2. Pushing
and maybe even 4 player game, 3 player game and 2 player game.
Then I dont care who joins my group when I select pushing, we start at a level and climb upwards it is an easy solution to a big problem for us that hit paragon 1200+ that has to connect a lot of times to get into a game were they dont play lvl 90 or superleveled 4 player team that wants to do speed 100s.
