D4 another idea

Why not bring back the stamina bar and ways to upgrade it and add potions back limited by 4 slots for different types of potions like thawing potion and example not a cooldown on it but like 3 clicks on a potion use and its empty this way you can also quickly see under which element your char is having the most difficult in… it will glow up the stamina bar u could also cap the dodge feature a little thos way defensive siganture dodge hotkey skills/items u can even exploit durability system lol :man_shrugging:t3:

When interviewed, even David Brevik said the stamina bar was a bad idea and he wished they’d been able to remove it. There’s no way they’d bring that back.

I don’t understand why they think it was a bad idea - i thought i remember reading that they (the developers) argued about the introduction of the Enigma Runeword to Diablo 2 (for kids - a game changing armor that enabled every class to freely teleport), one of the results of this was that yes, stamina became obsolete (for all but the “runner” classes in D2 -i.e. Bowazons and Shapers - Druids). i.e. before Enigma, Stamina WAS a stat, and for PvP purposes it had its own dynamic.

For PvP in D2, the community banned potions at low levels but allowed mana potions (on all but es builds). similar to ahem, other similar games, they could consider the introduction of different types of potions (with Cooldowns), i.e. potion of movement, damage, attack speed etc.

I looked at some of those item comments and it really comes across that they are advanced in some areas of D4 but in others they either have not made a decision, or they already have made a decision (say, we are not putting in stamina) but are not being firm on their position.

Adding multiple options to potions adds a layer of complexity to PvP but to be fair, this is blizzard, and complexity (and skill orientated play) should be their go-to…
