Why put the limitation to Windows 10? I have Windows 7 and I do not intend to change it with 10, because 10 makes me shit, is it possible that every good news there must always be something negative to make people angry?
I was so excited about D2 remastered and then I went to see the requirements and holy crap even in the minimums there is the limitation to Windows 10, personally the impositions I do not accept absolutely, it means that I will save the money of the pre-purchase and the game!
Yeah, it’s awful, cyber punk 2077 supported Windows 7. Windows 10 is invasive spyware.
Because…
Microsoft made a commitment to provide 10 years of product support for Windows 7 when it was released on October 22, 2009. This 10-year period has now ended, and Microsoft has discontinued Windows 7 support so that we can focus our investment on supporting newer technologies and great new experiences. The specific end of support day for Windows 7 was January 14, 2020. Technical assistance and software updates from Windows Update that help protect your PC are no longer available for the product.
Windows 8.1 reached the end of Mainstream Support on January 9, 2018, and will reach end of Extended Support on January 10, 2023. With the general availability of Windows 8.1, customers on Windows 8 had until January 12, 2016, to move to Windows 8.1 to remain supported.
Exactly!
You don’t tell me anything new, and I don’t give a damn.
For you it works like this, they say to change the operating system and you change it, but you have forgotten that we make the market, we are the ones who spend the money for a game rather than another, we have the power to change things, if you allow them to trample you now, they will always trample you, but never as now we should be united in being able to choose what operating system we want to use, what game to play, and if we want to go right, left or straight ahead.
This sucks, Blizzard, please support win7 and 8 before it’s too late! You shouldn’t force people to do something just for a stupid game!
You asked why, so I told you why. It’s not my fault you don’t like the answer.
You can play it on console too… if you have one that meets the requirements.
Do not expect MeteorBlade to approve you whatever you say, it is just a troll, he disagree everything in this forum.
MeteorBlade, the fact that Microsoft stop supporting Windows 7 is just a warning for the end-users of Windows 7(not Blizzard included here) that they may be e.g. possible target for further hacks attacks. If the user accept this risk that’s it, he can use Winodws 7 in the next 30years if he wants, EVEN IF you will DISAGREE and not allow him.
Hello,
No software company within their right mind supports an OS made obsolote by its owner. Request is childish at best. There are lots of reasons from bottom to top ( drivers, API’s, UI’s , troubleshooting ) to not do this.
It is out of the question. You should upgrade your OS.

Do not expect MeteorBlade to approve you whatever you say, it is just a troll, he disagree everything in this forum.
Oh, so it’s trolling to recommend not using an operating system that its own manufacturer has stopped supporting, even though there’s still a free upgrade to the latest, supported operating system available?
Stop it. You’re looking silly now.

do you understand that he do not want to upgrade? has his reasons, just respect them, is free to do what he wsnt.

do you understand that he do not want to upgrade?
I understand free choice just fine.
Choose to stay on Windows 7 or 8.1
The consequence of that choice is you cannot play Diablo II: Remastered.
Choose to take a free upgrade to Windows 10.
The consequence of that choice is that you can play Diablo II: Remastered.
Do you not understand that choices have consequences?

Do you not understand that choices have consequences?
but some of them have consequences because somebody force that consequences, in this case Blizzard decision, which is not mandatory, because as someone mentioned above, Cyberpunk 2077, a state of the art game with a state of the art graphics, support Win 7.
So the question is at least legit, why D2R would not support Win 7?

So the question is at least legit, why D2R would not support Win 7?
I would imagine it’s because Blizzard don’t want to spend time / money on Technical Support staff looking at problems arising from people playing their game on an unsupported operating system.
Regardless of why they’ve chosen to do this (and I think it’s a perfectly understandable business choice to have done so) the consequence if you’re on Windows 7 or 8.1 is that you can’t play it.
W8, they are gonna release it on console too? That’s great for me !!!
I haven’t seen or read all the coverage so I don’t know how many consoles that are covered. I believe that there will also be play across platforms and that you can play your hero(es) on several platforms (not 100% sure).

I believe that there will also be play across platforms
No, they stated that progress will be cross-platform, i.e. you could play a hero on the PC version, log out, log into your PS/5 and continue the same hero. It’s the back-end hero save data that’s going to go across platforms. They’ve made no mention of the possibility of cross-platform play, i.e. people on PC playing with people on PS/5, etc.
Thx for the update
The market is made by people, we are the players who have the power to change the choices that some companies will make, but certainly not by bending to their every will or forcing.
A company would never make a game that only a few could play, too bad there are several people who like Meteorblade are like mice in the wheel and as soon as they tell him to run he runs.
But let’s be clear that win 10 is a shit of a spy program and since they want to know everything you do from here start all the forcing.
As I have already written I will not play it, but I certainly do not cry.

A company would never make a game that only a few could play
Steam Hardware & Software Survey - January 2021
Windows 10 is 91.70% + 0.12% = 91.82%
Windows 7 is 2.28% + 0.17% = 2.45%
Windows 8 is 1.25% + 0.09% = 1.34%
So, yeah, they are making a game that lots of people (91.82%) can play rather than only a few (3.79%) can play.

You are repeating what I have already written, in fact they tell you to run and you run, good!
