Diablo 4 - Fonts

Hello gang,

Just want to ask if the font of Diablo 4 have been considered yet, and if so are we finally going away from the cartoony styles of Diablo 3, and back towards the more dark, gritty, ritualistic styles of Diablo 2?

I know this sounds ridiculous but one of the things that I found was ruining the scary mood of Diablo 3 (ofc together with the graphic style), was the fonts.

I do realize that the font used in most descriptions of diablo 3 actually resembles the font use when speaking to NPC’s in diablo 2, but I just really miss the runelike letters of the items back then.
We really shouldn’t underestimate the amount of time spend reading stats on items and so on, so having the perfect font (which I really still believe the diablo 2 font was), means a lot for the overall mood of the game.

Reading something that feels like subtitles on the latest disney creating really doesen’t help a dark ominous feel at all. I almost want to have to strain my eyes when reading gear stats. I truly want it. I want to feel the roughness of the unforgiving world that is sanctuary (please dont make that statement sexual in the comments).
I really hope I am not alone missing this, and really hope to see it in the future Diablo 4.

regards

I’m very sad to see that the recent D4 gameplay videos still have this Arial font for almost everything. Feels like I’m reading an email. I don’t understand how they think this font belongs in the Diablo universe. The devs don’t understand how details like this affect the feel of a game?

I don’t se Arial when looking at pictures of things like Legendary items.

OK the name itself of the item (as well as the defence value, strangely) is written in the classic Diablo font, but that’s it. And the majority of text in the game is written in that same super modern font and it’s just wrong.

The font used in the description of the items doesn’t look super modern. It’s more modern in D3. If you look at the "g"s then they are old style in D4. Also letters like capital “M” has more elegance in D4 as opposed to D3. It’s also important that the text is easily read because we’re going to cast a quick glance at lots of items.
What looks too modern is the player names on the left side of the screen though.
