The DiabloIV Cinematic looks SICK. Very good job and thanks for that.
Please keep in mind that despite the early hype of Diablo3 - some things kept a lot of people from playing the game in a long term;
- Real Money Auction House
- Botter that destroy market/trading system
- Botter that take advantage of afk-farming (act1-act5 caches)
- 3rd party software that shows an InGame Map overlay
- “unbalanced” endgame combinations for high end-game. (supportmonk/pullbarb/AoE-Mage/Singletarget bosskiller (hunter or crusader) / Everyone plays the same build
- Item Progression was way too fast. Leveling to max-lvl and get your endgame set “for free” in just 1evening…
- Boring endgame grind: Rushing through the map just for gem-upgrade or farminc the same items, just in ancient…and farming paragon-level for more base-stats? buuh - There was PvP announcement and an actually arena in D3…but you know… ^.^
- Don’t go the PathOfExile way that just oneshot’s every mob. The Gameplay of Diablo is nice. We want long & challenging bossfights !
- We want a long character progression | Feel rewarded for every level we gain and every rare item that drops and enables our build to do more damage - or gives us an opportunity for another build.
- Give us smooth & lag-free gameplay so we can play with our friends in a group (Lan-capability maybe?)
The early phase of Diablo3 was the most fun in my opinion. It was realy challenging. The first few days we thought TormentVI was not viable to farm since it was just too hard. Farming and grinding was fun. Items… especially Set-Items were rare. The gameplay was awesome. I remember building my Monk full tank and tried to position normal mobs in a way that my group can kill them which took a few seconds at least.
This is just what comes to my mind for now.
