Discrimination against Ukrainian language in Diablo 3 chat

I am writing this post to shed light on the discrimination that Ukrainian language speakers are facing in the Diablo 3 chat. It is not only me, but also my friends who have been unjustly accused of using offensive language and have been banned from the chat. This is not the first time we have faced discrimination for speaking our native language.

Russian-speaking players have been attempting to insult our Ukrainian language, to which I responded that only underdeveloped people get offended by a language. Despite my attempts to defuse the situation, I was accused of using offensive language and behaving inappropriately. This is unacceptable.

I demand that players of all nationalities on Russian-language servers be able to feel comfortable and not face discrimination from game administrators. It is time for the administration to take action against discrimination of Ukrainian language speakers.

I urge the administration to provide evidence of my wrongdoing, if there is any, or take action against the discriminatory behavior of players and administrators. Discrimination against our native language is unjustified and has no place in any online community.

This, right here, was your mistake. They baited you into responding and in your response you insulted people. That gives them the option of reporting you for having issued the insult and, if a GM agrees, this can result in you being penalised.

Simple rules. If someone’s being offensive in chat, report them and/or block them. Don’t respond to them. Don’t argue with them. They’re just chumming the water to see who’ll bite.

Hi,

That’s not how “the system” work… you need to report them. Posting here is useless.

When a player is reported in-game, the conversation is captured and attached to the report; a Blizzard Game Master will review and assess whether a penalty is warranted.

If you feel that the language is offensive to you, report the player and move on. Let Blizzard figure out if the language used is against the code of conduct or not. This Support article may be useful to you.

Good luck – they normally don’t. If they penalize your account, Blizzard will usually inform you that a penalty is being applied to your account and will inform you of the general category of the offense… Code of conduct , for example.

Good luck in your games !

I understand all of this, but I did not break the rules. Last time, I did react to the provocation and insulted my opponent in chat. My previous ban was justified. However, the ban I received today is completely unjustified. Last time, when I tried to appeal my ban, I was told what mistakes I made in my communication. I understood everything and behaved properly, without any insults. But on Russian-speaking servers, Russian-speaking players mostly react aggressively when they simply see the Ukrainian language and complain about Ukrainian-speaking players. And the game masters give us bans. When you try to appeal your restrictions, there is no response. I would like to transfer my account to the English-speaking segment as much as possible so as not to play with them…
