Easy builds/classes for beginners

So I have gotten my Witch Doctor to level 70 and have played her a fair bit. I wonder if anyone could reccomend another class for me to try?

I admit I mainly enjoy “easy” playstyles that does not require me to press too many buttons. I need to look down at my keyboard to push the buttons, so that means I am a bit slower than average - which means I die a fair bit.

I wonder if there is some classes that might be easy and fun to test out for me? I would love input and advice on the “easy” classes and options. Thanks for reading. :sparkler::grinning:

Did you try building using the Zunimassa set? That one is quite easy and effective, your pets will do most of the work while you debuff, buff with Soul Harvest, and use Big Bad Voodoo.
In my experience the WD has most of the simple, easy to play builds. Acid Cloud Helltooth i found to also be quite simple, but it was not all that strong when i played it. Maybe the set has had a buff since then though.
If you want to try a different class though, i would say try the Barbarian using a Wrath of the Wastes WW build or something using the Immortal King’s set with a full resource spending skill; Seismic Slam - Rumble or Ancient Spear - Boulder Toss. HotA barb i think is also quite easy to play and also strong, it has both Immortal King and LoN variants.
Good luck with your adventures, whichever build/class you decide to play.

EDIT: Oh, and are you having trouble using the number keys to activate skills? Because i can’t do that either. Try using QWED for skill activation, you might find that much more comfortable. The alt, shift, ctrl and tab keys might also be within more easy reach, if your KB is like mine.

It shouldn’t be necessary to look at your fingers and keyboard during normal exploration and combat. I usually have ring finger on 1, middle finger on 2 and index finger on 3 (and ready to switch to 4 when needed). The pinkie is on the key beside 1 (§) which is set to force stand still. When I need a potion the ring finger switches down to Q and I use the index finger also on R which is set to open inventory. For a period I also used index on E for force move but it’s better to assign force move to Space and use the thumb for that.

If you have a mouse with several buttons it’s a good idea to assign some of the action bar skills (1, 2, 3 and 4) also to these buttons so you can activate skills with your right hand thumb.
It usually only takes a few hours of play and practice before you get used to the settings you make… and you can always change them back.

Necromancer using Inarius is the ultimate walk around and kill things set. Lots of survivability with Aquila always being on and only really using one or two attacks.

Hmm. Thank you both for the kind advice. I guess the whole using keyboard buttons is something I need to get used to. It feels awkward to me, but I suppose many things do initially.

I am collecting a set that allows my Fetishes to be permanent, which seems to be very strong to me (sorry I forget the name of the green set). Which means I got 1 Gargantual, tons of zombie dogs, and tons of fetishes.

Youtube can also be a great source of inspiration. You can search for something like: diablo 3 helltooth build… or Arachyr’s Witch doctor… or whatever build you’re using. Just make sure that the videos are not old and outdated. Anthony Evans / Bigdaddyden has a lot of WD guides.

Well it has to be the Necro Inarius Build.

But for the other classes, it actually depends on your playstyle, i love classes that has area damage like the WD, Wiz, Necro, DH.

We have the same play style, i dont like mashing a lot of buttons and i HATE skills with cooldowns more than 20 seconds. Can you believe there is this build that you have to time it with the Convention of Elements rotation? LOL i hate that, yeah i know he is a professional gamer, i dont care, its cumbersome to do. There is also a build that you just kite around while you wait for that Land of the Dead skill to cooldown. (I’m like, WTF, yeah i know there is a skill to reduce that but still, anything more than 20 seconds coold down is an eternity for me)

I havent tried to focus on the Monk and other melee classes for the obivous reason that they are melee and i dont know the extent of their area damage skills. (I’m sure there is some sort of area damage skills for them).

I you want a melee Monk with some area damage…

This build involves punching enemies to apply a spreading debuff to them and then exploding them for big area damage explosions. It’s not a highly ranked build, but it does sound like a good mix of what you’re after. Take a look at mine if you want an idea of what it uses…

Thank you so much, that is something i can prepare for once season 17 ends, i devoted the entire season for INT based classes.

Next season is DEX classes

Easiest in a non-cryptic way would be Unhallowed Essence for DH or Immortal King.

I am most tempted to try a Necromancer or Monk. I like how they look in apperance, and I also saw a you tube video and the monk and necromancer looked fun to try.

But maybe I should just wait for next season to begin levelling again.

You do know that if you rolled a brand new seasonal hero and asked for a boost it could be level 70 in under 20 minutes, right? My softcore seasonal hero happens to be a Necromancer so I could even drop gear for your hero if you wanted me to do this for you.

That is a very kind offer Meteorblade.

Editing this to say thank you once more to Meteorblade, who took me to discover some grand new things in the game. helped me get my necromancer to level 70, helped me to gear up, and took me along to kill bosses and went to the vault and to a cow level!

Thank you so much. :sparkler::sparkler:

In my opinion, whirlwind barbarians are quite simple to play and gets even easier at max level with the full set. Icy Veins has a page with quite good information to start out with when playing that class. I play a variation of it on my barbarians. One of the “laziest” ways to play a class: hold in that right click mouse button and just whirlwind around.

Might not be wise to openly admit you’re violating the ToS. Macros are not allowed. One button press = one action.

Edit:

Looks like the original post was deleted.
