Enchanting Items feedback

Is it just me or does enchanting for the affix/property you want on an item take too long?

I understand including grind in an experience when it feels rewarding, i.e. grinding through neph rifts for keys. However, with enchanting, I already know I’m eventually going to get a certain affix if I enchant enough times. Speed-clicking through the Mystic menu isn’t exactly exciting, so why make enchanting an affix/property a random process, especially since you can only enchant one property per item? In early-game, this gamble may seem interesting, but it quickly becomes pointless for such a small reward, especially in endgame.

For comparison, imagine if spending paragon points gave you random stats? Yes, eventually, you would get the setup you want. But doesn’t this grind seem unnecessary?

Suggestions:

  1. If you can only enchant one property per item, then you should be able to select which property you want. Whether you can re-enchant that same property is up for debate.
  2. If you want to keep the gambling aspect, then you should be able to reroll all affixes at once per enchant. OR…
  3. You should be able to enchant all properties individually, rather than be limited to one. Chances of getting good rolls could be reduced, and enchanting prices could be raised. However, I recognize this option could be too powerful.

Yes it takes too long and Myriam for me is extremely frustrating. She tortures me every time even when there are 8 possible results (minus the one you already have) and i need 500 tries to get the affix instead of 2/7 chances. Totally a piece of sh** npc.

maybe this is ok, but i dont really mind having to reroll the item a bunch of times (it keeps crafting mats relevant) and dont forget those times she gives you the affix you want on the first try.

this option is already in the game its called reforge and you use the cube for it

this would just make every item you drop perfect so this would be way way to powerful

Getting the max value on an affix doesn’t usually make that big a difference - but getting the right affix is not a small reward. It can make or break a build.

Enchanting can be speed up.
For example: when I want to get + physical I enchant on character which is not using it at all. Boom, I got what I want much faster.

Tin foil hat alert!!

I guess I didn’t really emphasize this, but I rather pay a higher mat price and save time than gamble for all eternity. The time spent gambling could more enjoyably be spent grinding for mats. I agree though, it is nice when you get it on first try <3

as i said maybe its ok, its just that i dont really care that much either way.

sure sometimes your just not getting what you want even after rerolling the item 50 or 100 times but D3 is a very rng based game so having some rng at the enchantress isnt that bad. it is at the worst a minor inconvenience
