Did it twice for me… as long as you stay put after talking to Urshi, the effect isn’t reflected in the stats. Teleporting home (to close the GRift) updates the stats.

First 2 screenshots are before the GRift… Esoteric Alteration is rank 84 => 52% resistance.
Next 2 screenshots are after talking to Urshi after killing Rift Guardian… Esoteric Alteration is rank 89, but stats still show 51.95% (or 52%) resistance
Last screenshot is after porting home; stats now show the correct 54.5% resistance.
