Excess Forgotten Souls and Primal Ancients

Hello Everyone,

in this Topic i want to address something that i noticed and want to bring up a Suggestion.

After playing a few Seasons now, i noticed that at the end of a given Season there are a lof of excess forgotten Souls.

Of Course, you can spend them by reforging legendaries (Recipe two) and converting set items (Recipe four) using the cube.

Addressing “Reforging Legendaries”:
I feel that this recipe is not really the outlet for excess Souls, since bounties (you need the materials which you only get here) are not really the most popular Content and efficient one regards gearing up or grinding Paragon Levels.

Addressing “Converting Set Items”:
After a certain amount of converting you will eventually have the needed set piece you want. And since those items can not be ancients there is no real Need to do this alot.

Now why did i mention primal ancients in the titel?
A lot of people know the exciting moment when a primal ancient legendary has dropped.
This moment is gone pretty fast as soon as the player has checked the inventory or identified the item, since most of the primals are more or less useless.
Eventually you will end up with a bunch of unused/unwanted primals.

This brings me to the Suggestion which i want to bring up.
I was thinking about a Kanai’s cube recipe which lets you use your excess forgotten Souls and unused primals, similar to the reforge legendary (Recipe two).
A Recipe which is really expensive to do, so i can only be done a very few times in a Season.

My thoughts on the required items:
Three primal ancient legendaries.
5000 forgotten Souls
500 Death’s Breath

Those numbers can be adjusted, of course.

I mentioned recipe two, but instead of getting the same item, i thought you could get another random item out of the class-pool, which is currently played.

What would this do?
This recipe would give the payer a outlet for excess forgotten Souls and a way to use unused primals, even if they propably will not get what they want.
But is gives the player more options to use their primals and something they can actively farm to.

What do you guys think? Is this something useful or is this something which is not needed in the game?

Cheers.

In future posts couldn’t you get to the point immediately? I don’t quite know what you want and I don’t want to read it all again.
It’s not impossible that we’ll get new recipes of course but there is no such thing as “excess” forgotten souls. At a certain time you’ll have more than you’ll ever spend - and the number may keep growing - but it wont be a problem or concern at all because they don’t take up space or hinder anything.

Non-seasonal, I’m limited on reforging due to a lack of forgotten souls. I have over 1000 of each bounty material, and almost no FS.

Seasonal, I’m limited on reforging due to a lack of bounty materials. I have over 6000 Forgotten Souls and around 60 of each Bounty materials.

When the season rolls over I guess the combined Bounty / FS will let me have a play around with reforging again.

As for the idea of a recipe that takes 3 primals, 5K FS, 500 DBs, to give you a random primal item for your class, I think that’s a terrible idea. Do you have any idea how many useless items there are available to every class? If anything that expensive was going to be implemented, I’d rather see something like “Upgrade ancient to primal” where you can turn an existing ancient into a primal of the same item. That way, at least, you can target the actual item you want rather than something randomly pulled from the class’s massive loot pool.

Spot on i dont think anyone wants to spend that on a random primal. And why apparently are people not satisfiedwith good ancient. If i reforge And get a good ancient im satisfied And stop. Therafore 35k fs 3k leg mats.

Why profile hidden meteor, is that safer or why do people hide iT. Am i to old And not safe ?

Meteor has linked to his profile and shown screenshots from his heroes over and over again. He has also shown how you can access player profiles from other regions.
Besides that he never maliciously attacks other people.

I know he doesnt, i hope you dont think i do

Here you go…

Blizzard should really make a season with increased materials like bountey’s, yellow, blue and greys

They did that already…

https://eu.diablo3.com/en/blog/22493264/season-15-boon-of-the-horadrim-begins-921-14-09-2018

Season 15 will continue the experiment we began last season with a new seasonal buff. This time, for the duration of Season 15, all Horadric Caches earned from bounties will be doubled. This means that each time you complete a full set of five bounties in an Act, you will receive not one, but two Horadric Caches, for twice the bounty rewards!

This.
A T16 split bounty gives you 22 Mats each, thus 4 rerolls. These take 200 souls, which take quite a bit longer to farm.
So the limiting factor for reforging are already souls, not bounties.

Not if you have an “excessive” amount of souls which is OP’s topic.

I’d like to see a reforge primal option - not sure on what a fair cost would be, but it would make up for those instances where you get a primal for your class and it rolls just absolutely terrible. Primals are meant to be best in slot…a primal that rolls absolutely terrible is certainly not best in slot in my eyes!

Alternatively, an option to re-roll 2 stats for primals at Myriam would be welcomed imho. Again, at an appropriate cost.

I don’t think the developers have ever said that primals are supposed to be “best in slot”. Primals are “just” ancients that always roll with max stats. “Best in slot” can also differ greatly from build to build. The only thing guaranteed with primals (I believe) is that head, chest, pants, rings and amulets will always come with sockets and main hand and (I believe) offhand items will never come with socket.
An option to reroll two affixes on primals would be great of course.

This is what i was trying to get to.
Thank you!

Not always, as demonstrated by my seasonal hero’s materials…

I think an item that rolls with max stats is best in slot

An item, where all the items have the best possible values on its affixes, is useless unless it has the affixes you need. It’s just as possible to get useless primals as it is to get useless legendaries / ancients.

Its not really 200 souls, since you will get legendaries from opening the boxes aswell, right?

I personally feel that you can farm the needed amout of souls way faster than getting the bounty mats.
