Fastest way to get gems for augmenting?

Hi guys,

Need some rubies to augment my WW barb. I understood the fastest way would be to wear broken crown ( literally or in cube ) and put puzzle ring in cube.

Would doing this also in normal rift help?

Or when doing bounties?

fastest way is to reroll the other coloured gems into rubies by using the cube recipe .you can get the needed potions in act 2 . squirt the peddler sells them

Yes if you have enough gems of the other types, convert some into rubies using the cube. If not, the Broken Crown will double the amount of gems you find. Regular nephalem rifts will drop some gems, but you will be able to gather more of them by farming boss chests. Those always drop a bunch of gems and only take a few minutes each.

For rifts or bounties, have the broken crown in inventory (with the gem color you need in the socket). -before opening bounty or golden chests, switch normal headgear to the crown (rightclick it). -Otherwise use recipe like Zwiebel suggests

It’s easier to convert different colour gems with essence you can buy in act 2 from Squirt the peddler?

I think it’s neat to have double the gems, but if you are too much in a hurry to click in the inventory twice when popping the big chests, then it could be viewed as “time consuming” to use the crown :stopwatch::crown:

Are there any tips for gems conversion? Like, does it matter if you convert the highest gems or the lowest ones?

Because the recipe takes 9 gems you may not have enough to make 9 flawless royal. If you make 9 royal gems and convert them then these 9 can be upgraded into 3 flawless that you can use in the augment recipe.

Do you mean to do normal bounties or kill only the bosses in bounties? What are from your point of view the easiest to reach bosses in bounties?

Zoltan Kulle is about 100 yards away from the teleport pad and takes only a couple of seconds to reach.

Yes Kulle will be the quickest boss chest to farm. For a run with some variety, i would say a good route would be; The Skeleton King, Kulle, Belial, Maghda, Azmodan, Ghom, then Rakanoth.
You could also temporarily use Sprint - Marathon with your WW barb to run the route more quickly if your build is strong enough to melt the bosses quickly.
The bosses being a bounty is not necessary, but i think boss chests only spawn in torment 13 or higher.
EDIT: Actually scratch that. Boss chests seem to spawn only when a boss is a bounty, so you can only farm the ones that are available in a game. You can still quickly exit and remake games to re-generate new bounties, looking for the quickest bosses to reach.

Guys, for all interesed, read about a new method here: How to Farm Puzzle Rings Diablo 3 Fast Gold and Gems Season 16 Patch 2.6.4 - YouTube.
Basically you need to roll a new character, witch doctor/ monk/ crusader to lvl 31.
At that point they only have 3 rings on loot table, and puzzle is one of them.
Then gather shards with your other high level characters and spend them with your 31 lvl character to generate rings. Didn’t tried it myself, but I’ll give it a shot tonight!
