Blizzard has disgraced themselves with the stance and actions on the Hearthstone guy who supported Hong Kong. If you guys are not going to stand up for this at least stay out of it altogether. I read your reply on the Chinese media and how you will always defend your country? Wth? I was under the impression that Blizzard was an American company who operated under free capitalism and the tenants of free speech.
You guys might be starting to realize this about now, so I won’t harp on a point. This is big time and you are going to lose a lot of people as fans if you don’t correct your stance on this and soon. I will think very carefully about ever supporting a company that does not support peoples right to free speech.

Hijacking someone else’s event to express a “private” viewpoint is not right, nor would it be if someone had given the opposing view and supported China. There’s a time and a place for Free Speech and this wasn’t it. If the guy had expressed his views in his own time, so to speak, best of luck to him and I wish him well.
I wholly agree with your post. It’s no secret that the Chinese gaming market is massive, and Blizzard has its feet firmly placed in said market. Punishing a pro Hong Kong democracy supporter to appease the Chinese government is a disgusting move, no matter what sort of sordid reasoning Blizzard might try to use. I wonder if Blizzard would punish a pro US gamer for criticising Trump…I bet they wouldn’t (as they’d be in legal trouble for 1st amendment violations).

it takes a lot of courage to make such a public statement. Perhaps, other pro hearthstone (and SC) players should boycott Blizzard tournaments? Solidarity can break governments and can break large corporations with ill morals.
Yes, they are.
But politics, regardless of which form it takes and which version of it you support, has no place on these forums.
