Hello. If a fix is found to a known bug, I don’t see the point in waiting until patch goes live for the fix to be applied. Please, fix Squirt’s necklace in the live game, as soon as you know the fix works. Thank you.
Unless it’s for a game-breaking exploit level issue they almost never hotfix items mid-way through a season to ensure that players post-patch don’t have an advantage (or disadvantage) over the players that got rankings pre-patch.
The fix for Squirt’s is in 2.6.7 (and can be tested on the PTR for a week, starting today) and will be on live shortly after S18 ends.

Yes, thank you, this is exactly what I am suggesting to change. The fix should not be a reward, nor served as new content. Waiting for the patch would make it look like the bug was intended. And I doubt that.
