Hey! Short post here…
When we take a look at difficulty in all Diablo games we see that Diablo one two and three (vanilla, pre monster power) we see that what the games had in common that they were about actually defeating the game throught the difficulties - Normal Nightmare Hell and ofc the impossible Inferno in D3 vanilla.
But what happend when Monster Power where introduced in D3 Vanilla and RoS where we set the difficulty ourselves?
-The games are no longer about defeating it but rather setting the difficulty to a “sweet spot for efficient progression, in order to gain the most experience and loot per minute”
because cranking up the difficulty only slows down your progression. The purpose of playing shifted a lot. I cant count the amount of comments i have read on youtube and battle.net about Diablo 3 being way too easy… i just say to myself isnt this what you wanted back in 2013 when you and the casual majority was screaming for difficulty nerfs to Inferno.
Anyways…
I hope that Diablo 4 will be about defeating the game like all Diablo games has been prior to Monster Power and Reaper of Souls. Not saying that the somewhat dated Normal to Hell playthrough is how difficulty should be set in D4. Just saying that worked better than what we have now currently in D3.
Thanks.
