I propose the ability to add legendary items to an auto-salvage list, then add a button on Haedrig to salvage all items on this list. I think this could be a really good quality of life upgrade.
Similar to the “salvage all” buttons for normal, magic and rare, but instead of salvaging all legendary items it only scraps the ones specifically on the list you create.
This could be done by right-clicking the item while in inventory and select “add to salvage list” and if its on the list, the button just gets changed to “remove from salvage list”. Then every time from then on when you choose salvage all, they all get salvaged together.
Im suggesting this because I tend to just throw all my loot into stash and worry about it later, but when you run through t16’s it doesn’t take long for the stash to be filled to overflowing with legendary items. 90% of these items i have no intention of ever using, so they just take up space. If i could hit a button and make all the junk disappear, i could save space for the ones I actually care about so it lets me kill longer and makes the game more fun overall.
I would also suggest making an option to have the list character specific or universal.
I have this vision of hundreds and hundreds of players each writing a bug report and complaining :
that the game deleted that very special item which, normally, they wouldn’t care about but, this time, it had the perfect STATS !!! please let me un-salvage it !!!
The system is fine the way it is right now… there is no need to change it !
That is easily fixed with the current message that says “warning: this will permanently delete all items”, and a pop-up that asks you to confirm that you understand that destroying these items is irreversible. All requests of such a nature would just get a “no, you’re an idiot” response, just like they would receive if they manually salvaged the same item.
There is no cure for stupidity. It’s their own fault if they choose to ignore the warnings.
I know the messages are already there, that’s why I wrote “current message”. There will always be idiots who don’t heed warnings and expect special treatment, this would not change that.
I honestly think your argument against this is completely irrelevant. Those people have been warned and it’s up to them to ensure they don’t screw up after not 1 but 2 messages warning them that the action is final. Sometimes you just need to let natural selection do it’s thing.
If you can’t think of any other reasons why this should not be accepted, then I would say it sounds pretty solid.
Your ideas are unrealistic and against the nature of the game. We could hope for improvements other places in the game like being able to convert more items at the same time in the cube, auto pick up of more items etc.
