Today I thought i’d have a go - I already have far too many 125+ but I thought i’d go with a optimum build and concentrate superhard.
What was the result?
"You were overwhelmed " at level 163.
So it occurs to me that we should have that value for augments.
Ordinary legendary gems that are used for that (bane of powerful and so on) remain capped at 150 max

Nice level to get overwhelmed at
We’ll have to upgrade whispers of atonement the hard way.
The exp gain from ENs was even nerfed a season or two after the introduction.

The reason they cap the level of whispers at 125 is so that you still have to work your way through Greater Rifts to increase them. It’s a lot easier to get an Echoing Nightmare to 151 than to clear a GR150. Why would you work hard in GR150s, when you could just speed-run GR90s, get some ENs and then get some 750 caldessan’s from ENs?

Indeed. I’m aware of this.
However, it still seems to be an injustice of achieving 163 then being imposed with 125. It’s not a complaint as such, as I enjoy the extra challenge from 125. Perhaps the devs could consider promoting it to 130 from EN.
The fact is that it would (still) help multiplayers.
I can get to around level 145 (To be honest I let myself die after 126…).
So removing the cap will still help the same type of players.
If you want a Whisper 150, go to GR.

I can never bring it over myself to die in the nightmares (playing softcore). So I always use Templar follower and two cheat deaths. If the conduit is still active it can be hard to stop at level 126 because it continues to zap monsters when I run around the edges trying to get overwhelmed.

I carry on until the overwhelm point.
I’ve found for DH strafe, the order of pylons is speed, conduit, power and finally channelling -as the channelling lets it disappear for a short time in very quick succession, evading being blown up by those molten critters,
It’s INFUURIATING in multi play when some noob takes all the pylons before anything has even started.
Arghhh!
