Is the game dead? How to play multiplayer

Hi,
I recently bought Diablo III with Reaper of Souls through your official website. I completed main campaign, got 60th lvl and I would like to try to play multiplayer adventure mode with other players. Unfortunately, whenever I try to look for a new game, I cannot find any even though in game settings I can see for example that 150 people play adventure mode on hard. Every time after 30 seconds system creates a new game just for me and I’m playing alone. I don’t have any connection issues or errors; everything seems to work fine. Is the game after 8 years from premiere already dead or am I doing something wrong? Please advise. Thanks!

First of all you need to activate the Reaper of Souls expansion and do Act V so that you can become level 70.

I already finished Act V, got 60th lvl and unclocked 6 levels of torment. Do I still need to get 10 more levels on my own before I will be able to play multiplayer with others?

I think most of the players are playing season now.
In season, most players are lv70.

I wonder whether you can find others in public game at lv60, season or non-season.

Note also that, there is a requirement to join public games. Your hero need to complete certain GR level Solo for Torment 7+. No requirement for <= T6, if I remember correctly. The tooltips on the difficulty selection screen shall tell you the requirement.

Private games have no such requirement. You can create private games with your friends or clan members.

Maskraider says it. You also want to be level 70 to get access to level 70 gear and play on at least torment 1 - preferably in Adventure Mode.

press shift o and look for non season powerlevel communities. always people that want mind leveling you till 70 and even few 100 para lvls

Most of the people play seasons in diablo 3. And most of them are in position to do adventure mode at the highest torments. When the season starts you can find a lot of people doing low torments for bounties and rifts but as the season progresses and these players become stronger they jump to high torments. Of course not everyone plays with the same pace. In season 20 right now, whenever i logged in i only found bounty pub games for torment 16. There are hundres in T16 but zero in T15.

Appart from that, yes you should be lvl 70 cuase that is where the game starts and you should also start playing seasons becuase you basically get bonuses and other free stuff at no cost and then you can always keep you character as a non-seasonal when the season ends.

If you are new to the game just take your time, get familiar with the game, the classes, the adventure stuff that you can do. Then take it one step at a time. Have a build in mind for the class that you want to play. There are tons of guides. Make your priority to farm these items. There are milestones in Diablo 3. For example once you acquire a full set (green items), you can jump many torments. Seasons allow you to do that faster since they reward you with set items for any class that you play.

Ok, thanks for all the replies, that sounds complicated, but makes sense. I have just one more technical question. When I see that on some lower difficulty level let’s say Expert currently is playing for example around 150 players, I click join the game and every time system doesn’t find any available game and create new one just for me and I’m playing alone. Is it somehow normal or am I doing something wrong?

I don’t know the answer to that. It could be that all the parties are full - but that’s probably not the answer.
Are you still level 60?

I find out that once you are lvl 70 it is easier to find a game. Maybe matchmaking works with similar lvls for example if everyone there is 70 and you are 60 the game prioritizes them. Again could be wrong. If you get to lvl 70 give it a try and see if you can join.
