Is the numlock trick allowed?

Has anyone figured out, if it is allowed to use the numlock trick in the game?

I have not been able to find anything official about it, and mainly old threads, of people descussing it.

ofcourse it’s allowed. its not a macro. just good usage of your keyboard

It is not explicitly allowed. Officially it’s one key press, one action (or something like that).

In practice, though, you can use numlock and mouse and keyboard macros as much as you want. Blizzard know that numlock is widely used and they also are quite aware that some builds (like wizards in four man meta groups) use macros - and that macros are widely used by other players. You’ll just never hear them say that it’s officially allowed - and for a good reason. (They can not totally give up their control of the game).

Technically no automation is allowed. However the numlock trick relies on using built in game mechanics and requires no third party assistance of any kind. For that reason, while being very grey area, you can not be punished for using it.

Because of that the numlock trick is “allowed”. Not explicitly as stated above but neither it is explicitly forbidden.

Thanks for the replies. I might give it a try then. The constant clicking is a bit rough on my hand.

Numlock is allowed. It’s fairgame in WOW too. There are no known bans for players using numlock in any of Blizzards IP’s. And if it’s legit in WOW or HOTs no one is ever going to be bothered in Diablo 3.

As long as it’s in game and not 3rd party software you are legit and haven’t broken TOS.

It might be a dumb question but what does exactly the “numlock trick” does ?

Ok, I see, thank you for the vid.

I guess it isn’t illegal to use this and blizz themselves must be aware.

every streamer using in their streams

wudijo actually banned bc of this. But if you are not abusing in the leader np.

That is not true KirinTor.
