Is there any reason not to sell lower grade gems once you have better ones?

Gems are taking up a lot of space in my stash now (even after spending 3000,000 gold on two new stash tabs). Is there any reason to keep ordinary or flawless gems for anything once you have square/ marquise ones? e.g are any ordinary or flawless gems needed for Kanai’s cube recipes?

Lower level gems are used only to craft lower level rings/amulets.

Once you start getting marquise and imperial gems from drops in the game the lower grades are worthless (can be sold).
You need to get to level 70 and farm gear and sets etc. than can make you play in the torment difficulties (torment 1 to 16).

I’ve never crafted lower level rings and amulets.

Seems there is at least one Kanai’s cube recipe that can use “9 oif any gem” so maybe useful keeping some fo that still i suppose.

Anything below marquise is junk when you reach level 70.
You generally use the cube recipe for turning nine royal gems into your mainstat color so that these nine gems can be upgraded by Shen to three Flawless Royals and be used for augmenting. (If you are demon hunter you want emeralds for augmenting and you can quickly run out of marquise and imperial emeralds).
