So i took a few months break since i last played in spring and apparently you only get 30 days to redeem all your items from the mail, after a season is ending. Who is the guy that thought this is a good idea? And is there any way to rollback to that state or i actually lost everything forever?
A few months break? Seems more like half a year.
But don’t worry. Just start a new season. 25 just started.
Ah yes, you know how to count. Great observation post, but keep it to yourself next time.
I have to say that I truly feel sorry for you and your loss.
Actually, you get 30 days to collect the items from the in-game email system from the first time you enter the game after a season ends. So, if the season had ended, and you didn’t enter a game for six months, and you then entered the game, you’d have 30 days from that day to collect the stuff. So, if you lost the items that means the season ended, you entered the game on a non-seasonal hero after that happened, and didn’t collect the items for a month.
It’s a good idea so that lots of gear isn’t being stored in the email system forever.
Whilst this is available… Diablo III Account Rollbacks …it would only roll your account back to the last available save point, which isn’t going to be from 6+ months ago so, effectively, whatever you didn’t collect is gone forever.
That’s the way it used to work… but there is now a new twist according to this Support Note: Blizzard Support - What Happens at the End of a Diablo III Season
Items that are in your Seasonal stash will be sent through the in-game mail system to your non-Seasonal heroes. These items can be claimed by any non-Seasonal hero for up to 30 days from the time you first log in after the Season ends or until the second season after you last logged in begins . To access these items, enter a game and hit the Mail icon located in the lower-left corner of your screen to open up your inbox.
The part “… or until the second season after you last logged in begins” is new and I haven’t seen any announcement about it.
Cheers !
Thanks for taking your time to explain how it works exactly. I just saw there’s an option to see more older rollbacks and i got one with 654 emails. Quick question, if i rollback to that point, do i lose the newly created character that i was just leveling up now in seasonal?
Nevermind, I did it anyway. I’ll take leveling up legendary gems over a few hours of grind any day.
Thanks a lot guys!
Ooh, that is new. I guess I’ll have to update my D3FAQS.TXT file.
Thanks for the link.
Wow, good to know this part!
Thanks!
those items are saved somewhere.
30 days are to free memory. if a player had infinite items there it wont be good. if everyone had infinite stuff there, it would be bad.
in world of warcraft, not only there are 30 days (or was it 14 days ? dont remember), you also cant see everything in mail at the same time. its there, but not visible.
It rolls over in separate block forms. Once you claim the first section then the next lot appears. I claimed the 1st two then the rest just disappeared and no more message icon
Speaking of which, where can I look up when a season ends? (like this one?) Atm I can only guess.
Also is it possible to withdraw from the Season before it ends, in order to be able to sort my stuff (with that mail system) to non-seasonal stash before my holiday?
Until we hear from the “blue” posters (latest can be found by clicking “Blizz Tracker” or you can click on the three dots “…” in the top menu and choose “News”… also the US forum might be updated faster than the EU forum)… until we see anything nobody will know. Season likely ends three months after the start… so end of April early May?
You can’t end season yourself but you can sort through all your stuff and delete what will never be needed in non season and also put important stuff in the inventory of your heroes before season ends (to avoid having it mailed) and also sort out your non season stash and use non season heroes as mules.
I can see that ffFiend’s main profile is in the US region by the way…
