Hi there, im woundering the info im getting when i hold mouse over my mainstat ingame in the detailpage at my character.
it says like 18.500 intelligence = 18.500% more damage
If i understand this correct, and augment like 2000 intelligence more, i will reach 20.500% damage in my mainstat output. so thats flatout a buff at 2000% more damage.
Is that really true?
You need to understand the concept of “relative difference”.
OK, let’s say you have 18.5k main stat. Now you add 2k more to it. The relative increase is 20500/18500 = ~10.81, meaning you actually gain “only” 10.81% more damage. Huge numbers can be deceptive because they make estimating the relative difference harder. 2000% additional buff may seem large but it’s actually quite small when it’s added to a much larger value.
The main stat is just one of several multipliers used to calculate your final damage output.
