Never realized how bad the control is until now

…That I play Lost Ark more, the control feels completely wacko in Diablo 3.

-Why can’t I swap the move button to the right mouse button?
-Why do I HAVE TO put a skill on the same button (left mouse by default) that is also the move button?

I mean WOW I feel utterly clumsy now playing this game.
Every thime I try to move with left click, and the mouse is over an enemy I perform a skill that is already in the main primary button. So I end up not moving (well sure depenging on the skill but I didn’t use the primary for main attack in the past anyways), so I stand at one place and wack the nothing or error message if the skill is in cooldown.

Holy crap guys how the hell we played this game like this for like 9 years now? LOL

The trick is to use force move in the key binding option and set force move to something you like. I have force move on space bar and use my thumb. I know some assign force move to the scroll wheel - it takes a while to get used to.
It is also a good idea to use force stand still so that you don’t run forward (into trouble) when you wanna attack.

I have force move on my E, like I use ESDF for movement and put abilities around it.
But since my brain is constantly thinking in Lost Ark movement I just can’t coop with it anymore. The only solution would be to move it to right mouse button and also get rid of the skill from the right click.

In sticky situation I seriously died when I should have moved and its funny to come down to this really.

If I play different type of games of course no issues, but isometric/Lost Ark gameplay screwed me out of D3 LOL.

I looked at a web page telling about Lost Ark controls and keybindings:
Move/pick up/Interact = left click

I suppose there are other options too, like using a controller etc.

I guess most D3 players use left hand on the keyboard to control 4 of the skills on the skill bar and force stand still and force move and then things like potion and map etc. And then they use right hand on the mouse for attacking/ activating 2 skills, clicking/interacting and moving the cursor in the desired direction (lots of other variants and possibilities of course).

I bought this game when it originally came out, and never got to play it. Because of “issues:”

I purchased this game again, today, played until level 10 - realized I cannot make left click move only and tried to find a solution (via Google) - but of course, there is no good solution.

I am sure this game is great, but I will never know. I will not play an arpg that does not let me freely move (and thus feels bad to play). POE and LE let me do it - even the lowly Wolcen has better control than D3. I truly hate this. I wanted to like D3 even though I am getting in late to the action.

Now after making it to level 12 and realizing I will never enjoy this game my refund has been refused and I had to write an appeal. How petty is that. I only ask for refunds if I know I will never be coming back, and I have only played for a few hours.

I do not see how people play without the click move only option. It just feels wrong.

“I’ve only watched the movie for a couple of hours, so I’m entitled to a refund…”
Millions of people play, and have played Diablo without problems.

Perhaps you are correct Jazz - perhaps people are not entitled to refunds when products do not meet their expectations.

However, I do have friends who would love to get their hands on my account. Sharing is caring after all.

Perhaps this time that’s how I get my money’s worth.

I’m not sure if this is to mock me Gedatsu, or you for real.
Anyways, I gotten “back” the habit of D3 control now in Season 26 even though I still think these restrictions in ANY game are now do can be deal breaker. (Genshin Impact, Lost Ark, both have these configuration restrictions too).
Think about people who got disabilities for real. Let say he/she can only play with one hand. Or only the opposite hand. Or missing a few fingers. He/she shouldn’t be able to play the game due to this?
It wouldn’t make the game easy to let me swap just a few additional buttons! Just more comfortable to people who got used to different things.

Another example is me and controller. I would never ever would be able to play Diablo like games with controller ever. My mind just can’t coop with it. Yet others on console can do crazy good things with the same controller that I can barely touch lol.

Actually the console ports that you play with controller are pretty good. I started playing D3 somewhere around season 7-8 and I was skeptical at first because I played the majority of arpgs on pc for years and by that time I onwed a PS4 and a crappy laptop so I gave it a try. The controller felt really good. Not that it can replace mouse / keyboard for D3 type of games but it still exceeded my expectations. 2 minor disadvantages are the fact that you cannot micro anything with numlock, something that a few builds utilize, and the second one is that for some skills it is a little bit tricky to aim exactly where to land the spell. For example, for any teleport/dash skill you can aim the direction with the analogue but not how far or close you can land.
